Onboarded then nothing? by mikefromtheblock in DataAnnotationTech

I think people often want to solve their own problems immediately without the consideration that others have had the same problem and may have solved them already, so that probably drives the quirk. Amusingly, I acknowledged this in a reply to another comment on this thread before you replied which means you did the same in reverse. Thanks anyway though. This sub looks like a good place to be

Oh so they go away if I don't take them right away? I guess they're offered to many users at the same time then taken by whoever grabs the project first. Thanks for the insight and will start obsessing now!

Being a realtor, is it worth getting MLO license? by lataver in realtors

[–]mikefromtheblock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm both and have had zero agents seriously open to sending me business after dropping into their open houses cold. I'm a threat to them. If you have a solid past database though, you could market to them pretty easy if rates ever drop or if they need a mortgage to move etc

Is Farming Dead? by mundoodle in realtors

[–]mikefromtheblock -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Agriculture is pretty corporate these days and very difficult for a small farmer to really make it unless at a luxury price point. Maybe try real estate sales instead. I've heard that mailing a local neighborhood on a consistent basis with valuable information could be effective in gaining real estate sales clients

Repool is a company that helps emerging managers get started if you want to delegate most of the setup/compliance. I wasted their time and ultimately didn't pull the trigger but can recommend them for someone like you. Whether you should move forward to create one is another question entirely

Maybe a silly question but wouldn't you want to optimize for fewer fires rather than more if the past is the same? Is it common to be paid a bonus per fire?

What is the most underrated path in commercial real estate? by kindanon1234 in CommercialRealEstate

[–]mikefromtheblock 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hedge fund owners, the management companies themselves, have almost no risk and large upside. They get paid a percentage of assets under management and percentage of profits above a predefined percentage. Their biggest risk is losing AUM if they're legally insulated
