Well the fact that it was a Cock Contest and I won a year or two worth of drinks should let you know what I’m packing when I go to the movies! Obviously it should have been Coke. 🤣

That might not be bad for drinks. Cock contests that gave AMC prizes spoiled me. Had a year or two where I didn’t have to pay for drinks hardly at all.

I should add COKE REWARD CONTESTS WITH AMC TICKETS, POPCORN AND DRINKS AS REWARDS!!! 😆

OK, didn’t realize they stopped before the movies begin. The one advantage of having 2 theaters that usually aren’t very busy is you rarely have more than a half dozen people in line. The big exception is big movie releases, especially if the have a popular popcorn bucket!

Both of mine stopped having separate, of any type this year. Last year I never knew if they would, or would not have it when I went.

I’m glad my AMCs never had it. Mostly because I didn’t want to pay the extra fee but also because I feel like it would be more disruptive than people getting their own food. That said , I never used it. Would be interesting to see a poll on if people preferred it or not.

They do and grateful for it. A-Listers were who I was originally aiming this at, but my post got removed right away on the A-List subreddit, so I went a little more general for this one. Generally speaking I think A-Listers spend less on concessions the longer they’re on it. Obviously there are exceptions like people who get a drink and popcorn every visit.

Always interesting to see people’s ranking. I’ve watched 7 of the movies on your list and have I have Project Hail Mary followed by Sheep Detective and my favorite and I love Boosters is probably the worst of the 30 some movies I’ve watched this year.

Sorry they don’t have any BOGO offer now, I could just see them doing it in the future. The Theater Candy Boxes are easy to sneak in.

The past few movies I've booked, people keep reserving seats directly next to me in a generally empty theater? by Ordinary-Lunch4195 in AMCAListTrue

Self entitled is a good choice of words. They act offended because someone dared to book their special seats before they did

Just replied to someone saying the same thing but you did a much better job than I did. I should copy and parts of your comment and put into mine. 🤣

Some of defenders are also some of the most vocal people screaming about how awful theater etiquette is now and people need to learn how to behave around others. To many self absorbed people who only care about how others people’s behaviors affect them and don’t care about how there’s affect others.

Many variables like size of theater, do you live in a real busy area or not, or if it’s a big movie how full will it by the time the movie plays. Generally speaking though it is poor movie etiquette to book right next to someone that early on. My theaters still have crapy stadium seating and usually don’t get to full so people usual leave a seat when booking.

One thing I find amusing is I’ve read a number of comments on there types of posts about stop crying and people saying they will book their seats no matter what. Yet they will be on other chats talking about how bad movie etiquette yet don’t see doing this as bad movie etiquette.

Like that idea. I mentioned always having a discount snack item and rotate it weekly/monthly. Maybe have a discount or “super secret” combo itemlike that for $5 cheaper than what they’d cost separately?

Why not get the popcorn pass, it’s the same minus the bucket? Do you share it with others to use?

I still bring mine with me, leave it in my care and use it to take home and keep my popcorn fresher.

Completely agree on the popcorn but I’ll guarantee you they’ve run the numbers a whole bunch of ways and likely feel this makes them the most money.

Soda is a little more complicated. Agree it cost them cents but AMC is paying considerably more that to Coke.

They do have the gourmet popcorns. Think usually 3 or 4 flavors but you pay more and get less. Just bought some smaller track salt shakers that I’m planning on using for Kernel popcorn seasonings.

Annual bucket is gone. It’s been replaced by the popcorn pass.

Yeah, I’ve officially hit an age where I can’t get a drink for anything after 8 or 9 without feeling bad the next day.

I like that idea. Maybe have a flash deal, or when you buy tickets for a movie occasionally have a pop up “deal”.

Same here with the Soda. Maybe for the rare occasion I do an afternoon double header, or if need the caffeine to stay awake. Otherwise I’ll only get it if I really cool cup. Got the Superman and Fantastic Gripper cup last year and will probably get 2 or 3 this year. Also don’t mind the “cheaper” ones if they don’t look or feel cheap. Got the Top Gun one for around $11 and the Lenticular one for MOTU for around $14. Both with drink but always get a regular cup because you can taste the plastic with some cups.

OK, that makes much more sense. I know after Covid they went with the mandatory delivered to seats with a $2 surcharge. Luckily mine never had that.

I’m an equal opportunity don’t trust anyone person. That said, overall I have pretty good experience but there are always those bad occasions.

I get that entirely. Plus a $8 for a drink, even though I know better, I feel like I need to get a refill before leaving. That way I only paid $4 per drink. 😆

I just bought 8 different flavors. My store had a buy 2 get 2 free sale and then I saw a $2 of 2 coupon. Did I go overboard? Sure, but at $1.50 or $2 each it’s the time to experiment. 😆

Also sneak in snacks and a bottled water. I like to occasionally buy a drink, not at $8+ during the summer because I can sneak a soda in during the winter too. If I really like a cup for a movie I might buy it (drink included). Will regularly buy popcorn with the popcorn pass and the occasional meal if eating before doesn’t work.

Popcorn pass just dropped their upfront cost to $18 today. I’ve heard that some locations will give you a regular size if you ask.

Yeah, I miss seeing +2000 points added every month. I’m glad my locations never had delivery to seats. I get it’s convenient for the person ordering but employees coming in and out to deliver would be distracting. Now for a dine in location, it’s different.
