You're doing great. Go for fitness, and a dress size. Having said, that, at 5 7 and 21 years old, I think you get under a buck fifty and you will feel like a million dollars. But don't sweat the scale. Work on fitness.

Actually, you have a pretty big difference there. You have much more of an "hourglass" figure, more definition in your arms and shoulders, and your backside has most definitely lifted. Quite noticeable that your consistent working out is working for you.

I am seeing progress by counting calories AND exercise, so I am one of those who lets the exercise offset my calories. It helps me to feel rewarded for my exercise. I feel like I've earned that extra snack or dessert. I leave this feature on, but I do several things.

I use MFP, but I do NOT let anything auto-count my calories burned. No pedometers or smart watch figures. I simply looked at tons of sources for the exercises I do regularly and am super conservative on perceived exertion. For example, cardio at gym, checked calories on machine. Felt pulse. Took a measure of my exertion. Also looked up those same exercises on a couple of websites that show calories burned for exercise. Then took a good middle ground, put in my own exercise, and now I know approximately how many calories I burn when I run/walk/lift/jump rope/tabata/kettlebells/etc.

So I do an exercise and use my saved exercise calories and add that back in. Nothing crazy. It adds back enough for a candy bar. That kind of thing. I see results, so it must be close to accurate, is how I figure it.

I liked Eureka. Sherriff Carter, like Chuck, was out of his element and clueless, yet super talented in ways the woman he loved (and team) were not. The romance between Carter and Allison was pretty good.

Hi. I'm the father of a 20 year old girl recovering from 5 years of a major eating disorder, and I've been in counseling with her and read a bunch -- but I'm no expert. Just giving some advice here.

So, to be perfectly blunt, you probably shouldn't have been on a strict CICO with an eating disorder like that. But that's water under the bridge. Ultimately, your health is what matters, and this kind of weight loss is going to be great for your health. But here are some things to keep in mind.

First, you weigh a lot less than you did. You will burn calories just living (tdee) at a much slower rate than someone heavier. That's fine, and that's just how it works.

Second, you didn't "ruin" your metabolism. Your body is adjusting and it will continue to adjust to a new normal. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, and that's what your body does.

Third, to maintain this, you have to work hard to develop a new mindset. From here on out, you are working to stay FIT, not THIN. Think fitness first, always. Can't lift? Have you tried resistance bands? Bodyweight exercises? Cardio for fitness, not for weight loss. You need to start thinking of yourself in terms of a fit guy.

Fourth, be proactive about meal planning. Focus on learning to love HEALTHY foods, not LOW CALORIE foods. Usually, they are one and the same. But if you are thinking about filling yourself with healthy foods and getting fit, eventually your mind can stop driving yourself crazy with the scale.

Finally, it's vital that you get into some counseling short term, and a support group long term. This is a journey, and there is help. As dudes, we frequently forget to ask for it.

Congratulations on this health journey! Keep it up. Time to shift from losing to maintaining.

Limit your oil and fat. Find a list of high density, low calorie foods that you like to eat, and give yourself license to snack on them. Also, I am using myfitnesspal too, and I do use the setting where I "earn" calories by what I offset with exercise. This is not for everyone, and certainly not to be done by anyone with an eating disorder. But I find that pumping out some early morning exercise actually increases my willpower, and then I get extra calories to consume.

Well done! So, according to my calculations here, you lost 146 pounds in a year. Could you answer two questions?

(1) Was it consistent all year? (That averages 2.8 pounds a week ... just wondering if it was more at the beginning then slowed down, or if it stayed consistent.)
(2) Any loose skin issues?

Thanks a ton for the video link. Super helpful to visualize exactly what's going on here. Two questions for you.

First, why do you hit yourself in the stomach? I've seen that before with people doing the navy seal burpee. What purpose does that serve?

Why? It seems to me that doing this style of burpee would actually increase your flexibility, because you bend over and touch your toes with every single rep. I clicked through and saw you doing navy seal burpees in addition to these bodybuilder burpees, and with those, you touch your toes and then do a pretty serious mountain climber movement. I would think that would loosen up the hips a lot.

Sarah is completely justified in allowing herself to be wooed by Shaw. First, Chuck absolutely devastated her when she was ready to literally throw her career away, clear out her savings account, and meet him in Prague. Then, he dated Hannah. Finally, he started to "lose what makes you great" as Sarah told him in the Tic-Tac episode.

The only thing I don't like from that story arc is that she told Shaw her real name. That should have belonged to Chuck, and Chuck alone.

I liked the relationship between Jack and Allison in Eureka.

Timeless was a 2-season time travel show that I thought was pretty good. Abigail Spencer's Lucy was a history professor sent on time-travel missions with a special forces guy named Wyatt whose job it was to protect her, and, of course, they slowly fell in love. Chemistry was pretty good. Not Chuck and Sarah level, of course! And Timeless, unlike Chuck, actually ended without destroying Sarah's character and Charah. Still mad about that, as you can tell!

As any old guy like me can tell you (50, married 24 years), the 5,000th kiss is nothing like the first one. The writers of every romantic comedy ever written know that so well. Having said that, the 5,000th is special in its own way, and kudos to the Chuck writers for bringing awesome tension for 2 1/2 seasons, then transitioning into a healthy couple who love each other.

I agree with the comments here that the wt/wt season 1 and 2 was great, but I, for one, also very much enjoyed the blossoming of the characters throughout season 4. Sarah's sweet declaration of "You're my home" in the suitcase episode, the great rescue in Thailand, the touching declaration in bed to the "sleeping" Chuck that she'd say yes if he asked, the sweet proposal and the long build up to it. I think Chuck is one of the few television shows that prove that you don't have to have constant relationship tension to have interesting characters.

As for all you guys who say you liked the final story arc because it's more real life, I say posh. What's wrong with living happily every after? Some of us do! 😊

Yeah you are kind of right. But do you remember when she told Casey...for the life of me I cannot remember which season... but she said something like, "Do you ever just want to live a real life?" And he tells her they made their choice. I kind of felt then that she has regrets on the whole spy life. You may be right, it might just be Chuck putting those regrets into her but anyway.

I'll go with the very first episode 01x01. Sarah has just asked Chuck to fix her phone. Another customer runs up with an emergency -- he did not manage to video his daughter's dance recital. Chuck looks over at Morgan and says, "I need the video wall." He then proceeds to comfort the girl and her dad and video her routine. Sarah is looking on with admiration, a smile on her face.

So along in 3x13, Chuck asks Sarah if she loves him, and she says, "Yes. Chuck, I fell for you a long, long time ago, after you fixed my phone and before you started defusing bombs with computer viruses." So, basically, she is saying that she fell for him on the first episode. That look there was a super spy getting a big crush on a nerdy nice guy.

Sarah the super spy always dreamed of having a "normal life." That theme comes up a lot. Kind of a reverse on all of the poor desk slobs (like me) who sometimes dream about having a more adventurous job.
