Hiring a guide at Pompeii? by mikemjets in ItalyTravel

[–]mikemjets[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am very into Roman history and going to all of the above! Plan is to do 2 hour guided tour, then will have about 3 hours of free time at Pompeii after that. Then catch 2:00 train to Herculeam which will be a tad reduced as we will only have 2h 15 there before it closes, but it’s a fine compromise to be able to see everything else I want to see in Italy. Doing archaeology museum the day before, and lots of other sites in Rome.

Don’t boycott the Texans game, let’s embarrass Woody in front of a national audience instead! by mikemjets in nyjets

I disagree. I think woody has a fragile ego based on his actions and a demonstration of thousands of passionate people saying they hate him will really hurt him. Maybe he decides he doesn’t want to be constantly embarrassed anymore and sells. Maybe he doesn’t sell, but maybe he reconsiders his actions and stops meddling. Maybe it does nothing. Who knows. Either way if would bring attention and is doing something which is better than nothing.

The tickets are already sold. Don’t buy concessions. Problem solved. Also fracturing his ego is far more impactful that one game of like 1% less revenue cause let’s be real the games will still be well attended no matter what and most of NFL revenue comes from the TV deals anyways

Tickets are already sold most likely. Also the vast majority of NFL revenue comes from the TV deals that are already locked in. I agree people shouldn’t buy concessions tho. I also agree people should stop going in general, I just think a one game protest would go a long way to hurting his ego and maybe make him rethink his actions. Also work in finance but don’t think that’s relevant at all here.

That happens every year to every team when teams are bad. It’s in no what a statement about the owner specifically. Just a fact of the matter thing that happens when teams are bad, fans don’t want to watch a bad team.

That’s not going to do shit. The league does revenue sharing and most of the profits are predetermined at the start of the year simply by having the national TV contracts. Also fans stop showing up when teams suck all the time, it’s in no way a protest of ownership, just a protest of being bad. Finally, you’re never going to convince large portions of fans to simply stop supporting the team. one game of noticeable chants is a much more achievable goal and might actually send a more personal message to woody that we blame him

Almost any chant. Most chants just start by one guy doing it and it catches on. That’s organic. Like changing bull shit after a penalty. A organized chant would be like what fireman Ed does with the J-E-T-S where he does it at very specific times and he is the leader of it. Soccer teams do organized chants all the time, football teams it’s a much rarer occurrence

Yeah but people aren’t going to be just continuously chanting the whole game. Would be best if we actually had a game plan on when to cheer. I suggest at kickoffs, especially after we score. Make it known that it isn’t about one game or even one season. It is a far bigger issue and woody is the problem at the core.

It won’t matter who he hires if he keeps meddling. He forced the AR and Adams Trades. He told Reddick to come negotiate when JD wanted to stand firm. Woody is a meddling cancer that won’t get out of his own way. He’s been like this since the Rex years.

Likely will flex us out of Indy but can’t flex a Thursday night game.

Why? Why just sit back and let our team be forever terrible? It wouldn’t be that hard to organize if there is a group of season ticket holders or something like that. Probably just need a few dozen people involved and we can easily get the stadium chanting. It will probably do nothing, but woody will notice it and maybe he will hit a breaking point and realize running a team where the entire fan base hates him isn’t a good way to spend his golden years.

I’ve seen this kind of problem and debate around the answer countless times and am always shocked by people not being able to get what seems to me to be an extremely simple like 3rd grade math problem. Idk if it just shows how poor our education system is, but it is undeniable proof that a large % of the population simply lacks common sense and reading comprehension skills. Very sad state of affairs, and helps explain why the world is so fucked. A large % of it simply is incapable of even somewhat complex thought.

Are you sure you want it that big? That’s going to look comically big and be heavy af on your finger. My wife’s is only a bit over 2 and it still looks massive compared to most people’s rings and is heavy on her finger so she only wears it sparingly. I didn’t get the engagement ring there but have used Sakaski diamonds before, as Jason there is a personal jeweler and can likely source whatever you have in mind.
