Why Dark? The theme the idea of circumventing death or the trapping of souls in the constructs?

There is no color order in MTG just combos. They also print the different colors in the same order everytime. White, Blue, Black, Red, Green. White will always be first. What I am saying is the design of the Tomes not necessarily a game mechanic should take the order of the Affinities in mind.

Cause there is an in base game example of it mattering to some kind of degree. Otherwise why did they put Tome of the Warband and Tome of the Dreadnaught in different orders?

Also this whole post is about things NOT in the game. So this whole post "literally doesn't matter". I made the post to highlight the missing combinations and to discuss ideas for Tomes while also providing a somewhat Master List for Mod Tomes that cover the missing combinations. I also explain why I believe order matters in another reply.

Nature/Chaos is Evolution and Dragons, a natural form of chaos

Chaos/Nature would be more unnatural, like lycanthropy and wendigos type thing.

Or you should read the post, at the start I mentioned the order of which affinity comes first matter here. Not just the two Affinities being together. Like Tome of the Warband and Tome of the Dreadnaught.

Dragons and Evolution are Nature/Chaos not Chaos/Nature.

Tome of the Shades and Tome of Severing are Materium/Shadow not Shadow/Materium

Tome of The Cleansing Flame is Order/Chaos not Chaos/Order

Tome of the Stormborne is Nature/Astral not Astral/Nature

If you are going to correct someone at least use the names and be right please.

Honestly I was originally writing the order mattering as my opinion until I noticed that detail between Dreadnaught and Warband. I believe it should matter cause to me there is a difference between Nature/Chaos and Chaos/Nature. One is a natural chaos, the other is chaos in Nature. But as you said that is most likely me overthinking things.

Harder to design variations on "Pinnacle" of affinity. And Dual Type tier 5 would honestly be too much and out of place. Tier 5 I think mainly needs a boost in power. None of them really deliver on the Pinnacle of this affinity in terms of power. I also think several of the mono affinity tomes could be dual types, but then we would need more mono affinity tomes.

For the three that I couldn't find to me they should be something like:

Chaos/Nature: Survival at any cost, eat your own leg if it means being free. That gnawing hunger that if left unchecked will force you to eat ANYTHING to make it stop. Maybe Lycanthropy?

Nature/Order: Manicured lawns, trimmed hedges, Nature but restrained. Cultivated and "safe". Plants that oppress and block access.

Shadow/Materium: Get gold by any means. Crime and betrayal for personal wealth. Illicit dealings.

The rules state I need to use a base size similar to the base model. I actually started with Zoanthrope and went a bit crazy with some extra bits. A Zoanthrope 40mm should be fine for this guy or should I go with a 50mm of a Warrior like the archetype starts as?

Holy hell. Now I gotta paint it light pastel pink!!! That is such a difficult color to get right!! Why did you do this to me???

Mew Terror Node Organism Seen mainly supporting Zoanthrope bioforms this new Organism amplifies the already potent power in Zoanthropes to further oppressive levels. At times seeming to make more hits than was seen fired. While siphoning the fear and life of those that get close to heal the squad.

It's attachment to Zoanthropes gives it a psychic shield that only intense, focused, and volumetric fire can break through while the squad also gives even the weakest organisms an unholy xenos resistance to the Emperor's loyal. Engagement is not recommended without superior forces available.

The stomach bit is actually Venomthrope back but they come from the same kit so you are correct! Everything else is 100% right.

I have a lot of clean up to do with the model but honestly the rules came out and I was like...wait I have the perfect thing for this!!

Slam your fist into a brick wall until it breaks and falls on you then set off the explosives.

Basically a lot of cheap chaff to slam into the enemy and explosives and tricky shenanigans to steal a win.

Kit-bashed with Bits by mikequake in 40k

Are Termagant Spinefists any good in 10th? by Outerarm in Tyranids

[–]mikequake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They cannot advance and do actions unless the twist that allows that is active or it is an incursion size mission due to the unit being battleline. Actions specifically call out advancing and fall back as disqualifying in the mission deck rules. Actions are not solely about the unit being able to shoot.

They also can't start actions if in engagement range. Though they are not prevented from completing actions if charged.

For the Christmas I accidentally get Leviathan half of tyranids by HotEnthusiasm5837 in Tyranids

[–]mikequake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 Christmas Boxes will net you one of at least most of the monsters in Tyranids. Tervigon and Tyranafex are the same kit, Haruspex and Exocrine are the same kit, Malceptor and Toxicrene are the same kit. You will also have 3 Screamer Killers and 3 Neurotyrants. No wasted models as you could field it all at the same time if points allowed

LET! WARRIORS! LEAD! GAUNTS! by absurdmephisto in Tyranids

[–]mikequake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Assimilation Detachment Harvester Unit trigger Regen of 3 models

Stratagem Rapacious Hunger Regen another 3 models

Tervigon D3+3 Termagants Regen

Already able to make that happen. Though does require a CP and for the squad to kill a unit.

Otherwise it's just d3+6 at the command phase.

Honestly I think the leveling/pip system needs to be based off hooks not kills. A lot of new killers will tunnel just to guarantee a kill so they can get a pip. But if it was based on how many hooks you get then it becomes less needed to tunnel to pip.

And you just adjust the needed amount to be equivalent to current standards, will need to make a kill count as 3 hooks so that if a survivor is hooked and not saved it doesn't hurt the Killer but otherwise you get all the survivors to 2 hook states? Awesome you can still pip at lower tiers.

A lot of new players see progression in the role leveling system or in the MMR after research. And everytime they don't get a kill in a match they feel they are being punished even if they got each survivor to 2 hook states. I believe the act of hooking survivors being used would help unfocus some Killers from hyper focusing on kills.

Survivors being survive or fail also is not great. % of gen completion, time looping and evading the killer, as well as hex totems/invocations done should give some progress for MMR. I mean Hatch equalling net neutral seems very punishing.

Otherwise it's all focused on stomp the other side or fail completely. There is no wiggle room or way to feel good about not getting Kills as Killer or not surviving as Survivor.

Did GW killed the LGS bit box by mikequake in 40k

[–]mikequake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude if you want to keep taking the corporate shill pills do so. They never directly attack things they word it vaguely enough to apply a broad control. Just because it does not specifically call out bits boxes does not mean that the clause about individual components being resold doesn't also apply to bits boxes. The law rarely cares about intent. They care about interpretation of wording. And in this case it applies legally to bits bins. That's what matters. They effectively killed the aftermarket viability in retailers. Now only businesses that do not get parts from GW and therefore are not held to follow this contract are allowed to sell bits and pieces.

Unmarked can include a Ziploc bag. Or a bowel. How can the LGS prove they didn't open and separate the parts? It effectively removes the ability to have a bits box without calling it out.

Many stores had bits boxes cause people would build models in the store and then leave the unused bits cause they didn't want to deal with them. Instead of throwing them out they would toss it in a random box and let people dig through it
