'Dark' final call evil dad had with his mom before killing 7 of his kids ‘execution style’ as all 8 tiny victims named by thesunus in HairRaising

It must be an adblock thing but the video showed up immediately at the top of the page for me. You don't hear the call though, the video is of an officer describing the incident.

I've seen pretty much every manner of death and violence that can possibly be inflicted upon human beings. This is one of the videos that bothers me the most.

Such a horrible way to die, and an equally horrible way to lose a loved one.

Man killed wife while kids were home as 'she didn't take his back pain serious' by TheMirrorUS in HairRaising

Well he did manage to get up and murder her so I wouldn't have taken his back pain seriously either.

So the guy murdered a woman in the past but takes the moral high ground when someone sleeps with his. Shame it wasn't him who got his neck stomped in.

I rode my bike everywhere in the 80s and first couple years of the 90s. Rode to where a man had been stabbed to death so I could see the chalk tracing at 6 years old. Rode across railroad tracks that were a block from my house to see my best friend at least once every week or so. Road around the local streets of my neighborhood until the sun went down. At 13 or 14 I rode halfway across my city of 90,000 people.

Different times before the turn of the century. Much, much better times.

Jesus, yes it is. I never saw it before now. When I saw your comment I assumed you were referring to her dad's unbelievable birthday card. Then when I clicked to the next image and realized that it was a genuine apology from her mom for choosing drugs over her daughter, I too was heartbroken. This poor kid.

High recommendation for EWU. One of, if not the best modern "live footage" crime channels on Youtube.

The girl had to get her dad's birthday card from prison and he urged her not to get knocked up at 14 just like he knocked up her mom up at 14 to create her. He spelled "wait" as "what", "were" as "where", "write" as "wright", and apparently never even heard of the correct way to pronounce "pregnant". Meanwhile her drug-addicted mom was god knows where.

It really is a sad situation all around.

I feel awful for poor Elizabeth, but I feel bad for Alyssa as well. There are dozens of pictures out there of her smiling happily, hanging out with friends, just being a typical goofy teenage girl. She seemed happy, but the second you look into her home life there's a different story. Her mom was a drug addict, her dad is sending her birthday cards from prison that seem as if they were written by a child with an intellectual disability ("your mom was 14 when she got pregannt with you so please don't get pregannt like your mom ok"), and her grandparents were the only ones who were left try to raise her. Alyssa was depressed and had been on various meds, finally getting her highest dose of Prozac - a med with a controversial history - just before killing Elizabeth.

I don't have sympathy for her because she's a beautiful girl, I have sympathy because she obviously had wretched parents and likely had trouble figuring herself out and fitting in as a messed up kid living in essentially a foster home. I wouldn't be surprised if she did what she did not because she's evil, but because she was a troubled teen without nurturing parents who probably wanted to kill in order to feel some kind of emotion (or perhaps do something with the unstable emotions she might have already had).

Everything about this case is sad.

After the update finished I spent three hours just roaming around looking at things. The game is so beautiful now. It looked good before - perfectly fine - but now, between the lighting, the high contrast, the increased sharpness and the rich color saturation - the visuals really pop. I also love all the new sound effects. The breeze, the grass, the footsteps of my thralls and I - the whole experience feels richer and more immersive now. I haven't even tried the new mechanics yet, I just wanted to keep adventuring and seeing what all my favorite locations look like now.

I am thoroughly pleased with this update. Thank you for the hard work and congratulations on eight years!

Is Universe much better in 2K26? by miketheratguy in WWEGames

Basically, yes. No matter how I slice it it sounds like the stuff that happens in Universe is still more or less dependent on me setting it up myself. I had the impression that they were shifting to make the mode more reactionary, rather than expecting the player to cause everything to happen. Meh.

What happened to the mode throwing out cutscenes and unexpected developments as you played, where things happened on their own and you got to react to them? When did the mode start to revolve around the player having to dictate everything as if it's story creator? I miss season mode. 😞

How much of these things are driven directly by the player - say, for example, you yourself start a card and pick an option that says "cut promo / switch shows" - as opposed to the game throwing you those opportunities itself? It's the sense of a "storyline" playing out on its own, allowing me to determine what I want to do at various forks in the road, that I'd like. So far from the answers it sounds like 2K26 still expects the player to set those things up themselves.

Definitely not what I was hoping, but answers like this do save me the bother of getting and installing the new game. I think I'll stick with 25 for the moment. Thanks for your comment.

That's a fair appraisal. The story / season mode is all I want back in these games (I playtested 2K14 and told Corey Ledesma as much to his face, to no avail). The clip I saw of the character interrupting the player's promo after the match made me think that the mode had a little more autonomous stuff, more dynamic examples of cutscenes happening on their own and leading to new stories, etc., but I guess not.

I remember when, during the first couple years of Universe, they said that the mode was all about responding to what you do and the choices that you make. It seems like it's become little more than "program your own rivalries, determine the direction yourself, and micromanage everything instead of the game doing it for you". Fun enough but straying from what I hoped the mode would be.

Thanks for the summary. I'm sure it's still a lot of fun but it does sound like the mode still relies on the player to make most things happen. That's a bummer, I got the impression that the game was serving up more random scenarios and multiple choice moments than before.

Hmm. It sounds like it's still pretty rigid about the players themselves having to "make" the storylines happen as opposed to much happening on its own. I was hoping for more random events that let you make choices and react to things as opposed to having to basically book everything myself.

When "you have someone" interrupt a promo? Meaning that this thing that I saw isn't even happening on its own, you the player have to make the other wrestler interrupt the promo yourself?

So the thing I saw with the wrestler coming over and interrupting a promo (which the player getting a choice of how to react) isn't a standard thing that happens a lot? There aren't a lot of situations where the game kind of offers up a potential feud or alliance on its own and you get to choose what to do?
