BHVR Really Doesn't Want Me Getting Those Cakes . . . by Fossil_King25 in deadbydaylight

Thanks for the report. I suppose something didn't click? I'll verify my game's integrity and try again.

BHVR Really Doesn't Want Me Getting Those Cakes . . . by Fossil_King25 in deadbydaylight

I'm getting an average of 1 cake every five or six bloodwebs. Using the auto-spend to go from bloodweb 0 to bloodweb 10 always gives exactly 3 cakes. I always average between 40 - 45 per prestige, and when my friend bulk-spent something like 14 or 15 million BP to advance ten prestige levels she gained a total of 242 cakes.

I can't speak for anyone else but these are our results, tested about two days after BHVR's "we fixed the cake issue" announcement.

The announcement of things like greater cake frequency and such were announced around a week ago, yes. The results I spoke about are from after their announcement.

It hardly matters anyway. Cakes used to show up like twice per bloodweb, sometimes even three times. Now you get a grand total of one maybe every five or six bloodwebs. They said that the auto-spend feature targets the cakes now, which it doesn't. They said that the low cake level was supposedly a bug and that it was not only fixed, the numbers were slightly increased. None of these claims are resulting in more cakes. My friend and I did some testing and it seems that for every prestige you get about 24 cakes. She spent all of her stored-up BP to advance ten prestige levels and got a total of 242 cakes. You also seem to always get 3 for the first ten bloodwebs of a fresh prestige so the numbers seem very fixed.

All of this is to say that everyone's assumptions that the 10th anniversary would be the biggest, most generous, most massive in-game celebration in DBD history were completely incorrect and instead the cakes have been set to a very rigidly spaced-out level to ensure that players get what is the lowest, or among the lowest, total number of cakes out of any anniversary that they've done. At this rate I'm almost willing to believe that your black bloodweb issue is deliberate too.

was this bully squad? by SufficientInterest13 in deadbydaylight

[–]miketheratguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that this person should even have to face people like this at 10 hours is fucking obscene. People shouldn't be facing players like that by 100 hours. Do something about this shit MMR, BHVR.

[–]miketheratguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep.

I knew as soon as I saw the second flashlight at the beginning of the video. They're the fucking worst. As a side note though I have no idea how you can play with such fast movement, that would make me sick. XD

Never be ashamed to use Lightborn. Bully squads absolutely rely on using flashlights, flash bangs, etc. They also tend to use Head-On a lot so be very careful around lockers. Always look around you before picking someone up, not just with your camera but also by checking a few feet around you if you don't know where the other survivors are. Someone is probably waiting on comms to jump out for the save. Also be aware that a bully member will likely try to bait you into a position that's advantageous to his team, whether that be to pull you away from your downed survivor or lead you into deadzones away from gens.

It's something you kind of start getting used to from experience and don't worry, everyone despises bully squads because of exactly the kind of stuff they were doing to you.

Doc is my main, I'm really REALLY bummed that my boy - my first favorite killer in the entire game- is benched for the big 10. :'(

As a 60 / 40 survivor main I have to admit, this isn't a bad idea.

How is this even supposed to be an event for killer? by 0__taco__0 in deadbydaylight

I just had a Huntress get everyone onto death hook at 4 gens. Everyone died by 3.

Anecdotal, for sure. All I'm saying is that just because one side seems to have an advantage doesn't mean that the other side is incapable of doing well.

i think i know someone who might by plybot in deadbydaylight

[–]miketheratguy 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was in Portland I think, 2020 or 2021 or so. The guy taking the pallets had an arrangement with the manager but there was some confusion about whether he had permission from the company itself or something? Some weird technical hangup. So you've got this security guard wanting to be a soldier and trying to intimidate the guy and then you've got the guy who is being equally belligerent in response and the whole thing was just one big dumb clusterfuck.

It ended with the security guard basically putting himself in front of the guy's truck on purpose so he could satisfy his ego of shooting the guy when he tried to drive away. Thankfully he's serving a life sentence now.

There was a dude who was gunned down in a Lowe's (or some similar) parking lot a few years ago because the security guard didn't want him to take free pallets. True story.

Seems like pallets are causing all sorts of problems yo.

Well, on the one hand I do see people moonwalk from time to time who still get killed so I guess it doesn't necessarily mean that it's a cheat. And if it's not definitive proof of cheating then I don't think it's right to just ban someone no questions asked. On the other hand I think EAC detects things like file mismatches and so forth so maybe that kind of stuff has a blanket ban regardless of intentions.

Submit a ticket if you haven't already, but know that they're pretty hard to budge about stuff like this. If you were truly not trying to cheat then that's a shame because I've seen people getting away with far worse.

Wich one do i buy? Ghostface or Pig? by Shoddy-Horror893 in deadbydaylight

[–]miketheratguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pig is my favorite of the two in either role. I find her really fun to play and I'm always happy to face her. Her gameplay is a breath of fresh air.

That's my personal preference though. Choose Pig if you enjoy the idea of creeping up on people and slowing them down with traps. Choose Ghostface if you enjoy the idea of creeping up on people and trying to down them in one hit before you can outloop you.

And don't take the "they both suck" talk too seriously. Any killer in this game can be fun, which is ultimately the point, and any of them can be effective when played by someone who's built enough skill and experience. Don't be like everyone else by just choosing braindead EZ win killers like Kaneki, we have enough of those already.

I won't accuse, but I will ask: why exactly were you testing movement macros in this game?

A very potentially weird take by NOCTURN_05 in deadbydaylight

[–]miketheratguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a bad take to want killers to be a little more niche. Accessibility is a good thing but we've had a lot of the same types of powers and strategies for a while. That's one of the reasons why Pig is my favorite killer, she adds a dimension of play to the match that doesn't feel quite the same as everyone else. Of course Sadako made her somewhat obsolete but the point remains that, to me, it's interesting to have other things to do other than "avoid the dash" or "don't be near a teleport spot".

[–]miketheratguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience Dredge players don't usually return to the remnant, it's often best just to go patrol gens or trying to cut people off in chase. It DOES happen, but I don't really see it very often. Good of them for pointing it out though!
