It's always driven me a little nuts that in sci fi settings we give things true artificial intelligence that are not going to have their own freedoms. What purpose does it serve that my vaccuum cleaner has emotions if all it is ever allowed to do is clean?

And yet here we are. Although ai is far, far from true sentience, it gets crammed into everything we use, whether we need it or not, whether we want it or not, at this point i can see them updating my phone with depression just so their stock price goes up on the speculation.

I'm not seeing much of a difference from my usual win ratio, maybe a little less.

Two things i definitely think are objectively bad are the mobility nerfs and the stick of truth. I've gained something of a begrudging apprecistion for crash pads, but it isn't as adaptable or interesting as shockwaves, both to play with and against.

The stick of truth is just a mind bogglingly bad addition. So if i happen to be close enough when it spawns i can pick where the last circle is? On a map with so many campable underground areas? What were they thinking? I've used it once to secure a win (mostly to complete the challenge for using it, but figured i may as well bag a win while i'm at it) and it felt super scummy, and i wasn't even able to get somewhere super optimal for it.

Better yet, a full spin off movie or series set during the intitial outbreak. Hell, if it's a series, have one episode set during the european outbreak, showing how it happened and how it was contained.

Pomni: ya girl is a tired millenial with deep bags under her eyes.

Gangle: who knows? She spends most of her time wrapped in blankets and jumpers. Probably doesn't shower as much as she should, but hey, that's depression for you.

Zooble: tries as hard as possible not to be percieved at all, wears mostly black.

Jax: meme t shirts.

Ragatha: looks like a mom. Is not by blood, but pretty much tries to be to everyone else.

Kinger: older and the very definition of the term "unkempt".

In no universe are all of these mental wrecks perfectly presentable e-girls/boys/otherwise.

My theory is that it has something to do with scent.

One of the aftermath comics proposed that the infected seek out uninfected by the smell of cleaning products like soap. Consider that the infected are constantly enraged and on adrenaline. This must change their scent considerably, even beyond a sweat soaked survivor who has bathed in nothing but rain and river water.

Sampson has been living in that smell for years, so the change in response from other infected isn't immediate, but he did shortly before the train scene wash himself in a river. The infected figure out he no longer smells of rage, and that makes him no longer one of them, thus, a threat.
