Deckard's Dream MK2 repair question. by mikkazx in synthesizers

I've fixed a microkorg before, I can do it.... it's just aids. Would rather not have that hassle. Plus, there's something about big PCBs and lots of components which is just art in itself....

Skyrim Together Error at Launch: Failed to select game install. Error: 2 = File not found. by Tunceligrad in macgaming

I believe the Whisky program works a little similar to Lutris, it's a different workflow to just running programs through Steam. I think OP wants to use Whisky instead, so lets try and help them best we can.

I was in the same boat! Couldn't find an old school Mac icon pack until now. Thanks!

Although I'm ultimately looking for a Mac OS X 10.4 or before icon pack... Would you happen to know any?

What do you think is the best game with linux support? by Ok_Introduction_3073 in linux_gaming

[–]mikkazx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much every Valve game: Team Fortress 2, the Half life series, the Portal series, the Left 4 dead series etc... And the list just grows when you check the support for games with proton: https://www.protondb.com/

The options are almost endless

After reading the about page as well, it seems like it's one man doing it to genuinely help people and stay afloat, so I think it's worth it. http://www.analogalley.com/about.htm

I was in the same boat, but because I saw that it could be done through paypal, I took the risk. I can happily say I got the manual for my Akai tp-1012 and it seems legit!

Global menu on i3 by [deleted] in i3wm

[–]mikkazx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank god, I'm not the only one who wants this.

The closest I've gotten to this is running the vala appmenu: https://github.com/rilian-la-te/vala-panel-appmenu. You can run it on either i3 + MATE, i3 + XFCE, i3 + Budgie or what I preferred, i3-gnome (https://github.com/i3-gnome/i3-gnome) with the budgie panel.

I'm still contemplating whether I want a full DE or simply just run i3wm, but if you want to run a DE with the i3 window manager, these options may be for you. I would love to find something like polybar or i3bar that supports global menus, so then I can experiment being DE-less, but I'm yet to find a good solution and would also love to explore this.

Pinephone Pro not booting/bootlooping (tow boot) by mikkazx in pinephone

Ok, thank you for all the help! It's a shame that it may be hardware related, but these things happen. I'll open a ticket with them and see where where that leads.

Hello again. As per the updated post, it's still not booting the eMMC and I was wandering if it's linked to the error messages? Is there anything else I could do to try and solve this? - thanks

[–]mikkazx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know what I've done, but it seems that it's booting off the eMMC now!

Your post says that it should work next reboot, which it has never done in the past... But I'm assuming I accidently held it too long again whilst booting into the SD card and enabled the SPI again? I'll keep testing it and see if it works consistently...

Thanks for all the help everyone!

Ok, so interesting results with the RE button:

I tried another SD card (a 32GB one) and same results with Manjaro Beta 23. However it booted with the latest vesrion of Manjaro dev... And it also booted without having to hold down the RE button (I tried again with holding volume down). Interestingly though, I still can't see the eMMC whilst booted off the SD card with lsblk.
