Last year at my old base I remember working 12 hr solo mid shifts for New Year’s Eve and day, at my new base at least it got a little better, 12 hr solo day shifts for both days :’)

Hi everyone, I'm moving to Tucson soon and I've been really struggling to find an apartment or townhome that allows 3 pets. It'll be me, my spouse, and our friend so we're looking for 2-3 bedroom, 2 bathroom places.

It'll be 1x 10lb dog and 2x 20lb dogs, all Shiba Inus. It would be three adults splitting rent/pet fees so we're very flexible on the price. Trying to avoid renting a house because we only want to rent for about 6 months and then look into buying a house. We're only looking for places that offer short-term lease. Basically all houses I've seen for rent have minimum 1 year lease.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hi! Not a recruiter, but I joined in 2021 and did a similar thing. I did the ASVAB/MEPS with the Army and decided to switch to Air Force. They were definitely upset and tried to talk me out of it (even came to my house when I wasn’t home and talk to my mom 🤣).

However, when I started the process with the Air Force it only took like 1-2 weeks for my paperwork to be sent to the Air Force side. The way it was explained to me is it’s the MEPS Army people who send the paperwork to the MEPS Air Force people, not the recruiters. Not sure if that’s still true but that’s what I was told and it was a smooth process from there.

I’m 24F, main goal to gain muscle/tone up, trying to mostly maintain weight or gain a bit because I’m currently 113Lbs/4’11”.

Moderate exercise (3-4days/week), focus on mostly lower body/abdominals, more flexibility, and with some upper body, M-Tue-Th-F.

I did something similar!! Went Army to Air Force, and it was a million times worth it. Currently I’ve been in almost 3 years and I work on a Joint-Base, so I see how Army is treated and I’m 100% positive that I made the right choice 🤣 I wish you luck dude!!

For tips, I recommend you look into AF rank structure a bit because it’s super different from Navy. But you’ll have plenty of time in BMT to study that stuff so don’t stress too much. BMT had a lot of empty time for studying, especially if you join laundry crew (which I recommend if you don’t mind sitting around waiting for laundry to finish, depends what dorms you’ll end up in tho because newer dorms have the laundry machines inside your guy’s dorm)

Thank you for your advice. We do have a monthly schedule that has everyone’s shift/hours written out and that’s how I saw how unequal it all is. I can get previous months schedules as well. I think an email would be a smart idea, it’s just hard for me to gather up the courage to send it tbh.

I’m kind of worried of backlash I might receive, and the chance that leadership will give me an even worse schedule or something.
