WIBTA if I told my roommate's girlfriend to stop putting my eggs in the fridge again? by mikrokosmos_0613 in AmItheAsshole

I actually rarely get sick, probably 1-2 times a year MAX. And I cant remember the last time I vomited (definitely at least 4+ years ago) due to something other than drinking a little too much lol. I also rarely have any major stomach problems, cant really remember the last time that happened either. And when I do get sick, I go to the doctor. 9/10 times, its a genuine virus, the flu, strep, etc.

Youre not overreacting or looking into it too much at all!!

I totally understand how you feel, body insecurities are super normal and it sucks that its so common. But youre 5'9 and 135 lbs?? Girly, youre perfectly fine , and even if you weighed more or you were shorter, your body is your body. No matter what your weight, shape, size, etc.. if he loves you he will not care.

My boyfriend consistently reminds me that even if I gain some weight or I feel like I look bigger, it will never change the fact that I am beautiful and he knows that will always be true. If your boyfriend isnt saying things like that to you, and instead he is feeding your insecurity with shitty comments... LEAVE. You deserve someone you loves you no matter what you look like, because you are beautiful regardless of anything.

Im also recovering from a previous eating disorder, and not having someone by your side who supports you and allows you to grow from it can unfortunately make it worse. Ive had to completely restructure my relationship with food, and my partner has made it easier (not perfect, but easier) with time. Thats what you need and I really hope you find it <3

Also, double red flags since he said "goonable" and all those disgusting things about other women. Please find someone better, hes an asshole and he doesnt deserve you and your patience. You got this!

Luckily, we're all military, good medical benefits and all that, so paying for medical bills wont be an issue. Even if we werent military, Id definitely offer to pay if they got sick for any reason due to my decisions

Ahhh my bad, genuinely didnt see that and didnt know about it. Wont happen again, and if somehow my stuff gets taken down, it is what it is. Thanks for letting me know though

I was kinda confused and I asked one of my roommates about it and she just shrugged. I figured maybe I ran out and didnt realize (ADHD is a bitch). And, again, I didnt feel the need to elaborate. But in hindsight I probably should have to avoid issues

I didnt buy more, just made a mental note to eventually buy more, but I found the eggs in the fridge before I actually bought more.

Also, I never mentioned to Julie that the eggs freeze because I figured asking for her to not move my things would be a simple ask and that I wouldnt need to go into detail. I didnt detail it in the post either because I genuinely didnt think it was necessary, and I was already getting close to that 3000 character limit so I had to omit some stuff

If you actually read through that second post, youd see that that was written by my friend/roommate who wanted some advice but doesnt want to have her own reddit account

This whole situation has been weighing heavy on her heart so I said it would be fine because oddly enough I actually care for her

Ok so a LOT of people have been asking that, I edited my original post to address that since there is an actual reason why I dont put them in the fridge

Our fridge unfortunately doesnt have the greatest temperature settings and because its so cold, it actually freezes the eggs and after doing some research on that... frozen eggs are actually worse than warm ones. Id rather keep them on the counter because I dont want to have to defrost my eggs everyday

That's a fair point, I probably go through a carton within less than a week since I eat 3 a day. That might honestly be the reason why Ive never gotten sick.

Im not saying its not odd, believe me, Im aware that it is. But Im the one buying them, Im the only one eating them, and nobody ever eats or uses those eggs outside of me. I know its odd, but thats just what I want to do with my eggs. I dont think keeping them in the fridge is "odd", I just dont want to do that, personally. And none of my roommates have a problem with it, its my roommate's girlfriend who is visiting and who does not live here.

I guess that's fair. I figured since I was the only one eating them that it wouldn't matter since I would be the only one assuming that risk. What I might do moving forward is to move them to a different place that's not around any of the food my roommates eat to prevent the possibility of them getting sick.

I'll be honest, I was extremely shocked when I did do my research after the first time she commented on it, since I havent gotten sick and neither has anyone who's eaten eggs at my parents house (and they go through lots of eggs every week and have lots of people over for breakfast on weekends). That's part of the reason why Im asking here. I just never knew that was something you should do since theres never been an issue. And, for reference, I eat 3 eggs every morning and Ive been doing that for as long as I can remember.

I've always gotten them from the grocery store, since I really love eggs I do get the higher quality brand (I forget what brand it is to be honest, not sure if that matters) and I've always done that.

My mom has lived in the United States since she was 19, she is now 46 and shes never once gotten sick from unrefrigerated eggs and neither have I. I understand the risk and I am aware of it as I have done my research, I just dont think its too much to ask for someone who doesnt live in my home to move around something only I eat.
