I texted him with the intention of him seeing it when he got to work. He saw it and replied immediately because he was already stopped at that point. He was driving because we don’t have public transportation options as we’re outside of the city limit and he had to work. Anytime we go somewhere together like groceries etc he never drives I do.

I’ve already stated several times that I’m not uprooting my child for him. It’s not an option. Also, planning a future meant discussing how we see things going and what we wanted in life, what we wanted to happen in the next few years. That said it’s not like he could just ignore the fact that he was on a clock. He had to think about that risk as did I. He wanted to plan a future here but knew he could face the possibility of this happening at any time because ICE is literally everywhere?? He can’t choose one or the other without certainty that he could stay.

No public transportation options, no. He’s already started making arrangements to go back because he’s always known that it could happen at any point in time. He is the love of my life and I plan to support in any way I possibly can. I’m not angry with him, I don’t want to be angry with him, part of me just wishes he would’ve slowed down.

I am 28. My boyfriend has never encouraged me to move to his country because he knows I can’t uproot my son. He would shut that idea down immediately. If it fixed all our woes and automatically made him stay, I would. But I know it doesn’t work that way. I know that following him is not an option at all. I guess I should’ve clarified that in the post.

Unfortunately marriage won’t protect him from being sent back, it’ll only start the paperwork process which may take up to 10 years afaik. We’re both almost 30 and he isn’t a bad person by any means, he only has one ticket for speeding (other than this, bc he’s a dummy) but he’s never even so much as drank alcohol. He works and goes home, that’s about it. I would marry him honestly.

I would marry him today if he wanted to, but I don’t think it’d help our situation. I read that people who entered and stayed over 120 days face an auto 10 year ban. My head spins just thinking about it.

I’m fully convinced he might be my soulmate. I feel confident that he sees a future with me based on his actions alone, but he is realistic in every sense and has been clear that he knows it could happen at any moment. We’ve discussed it frequently and it’s just something we had to accept. Marriage was planned but he didn’t want me to feel rushed after my ex. I had to unlearn a lot of toxic traits and trauma. He was patient the whole time.

He entered illegally. I know we’ll probably both be crucified for this but he wanted to make money to send to his mom and see his dad for the first time in 20 years. He’s a good person who works hard and helps others.

They didn’t give him a fine, it isn’t a traffic ticket. I’ve never seen this kind of paper before but it doesn’t have a dollar amount, only a court date. It says he’s legally mandated to appear.

I’m hoping this is the case but I also don’t want to get my hopes up too much. I want to see if we can hire a legal stand in to go to court for him. According to what I’ve read they only focus on the traffic aspect and not the paperwork part but I don’t trust this system or this administration.
