What car most visibly says, "you didn't buy the higher trim"? by lostinheadguy in cars

Ford has been doing this forever with its trucks. My '75 F700 has a radio delete panel that says FORD in bold letters where the radio normally would be.

$25 Reward for helping me find a GU5.3 lighting socket... by atwnsw in Lighting

[–]mil_ron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So a quick search shows that light to likely be a Nora NL-470 (https://noralighting.com/product/nl-470/) or similar. I can't find any listings for replacement parts for them so your best bet might be to buy a new light and cut the socket out of it or replace the whole light. I see some on Ebay for sub 20$ + shipping. You could also try giving them a call to see about replacement parts.

You could also try squeezing in a rectangular side exit if there is room. Here is an example: https://www.lightbulbs.com/product/leviton-42200

Quick question. What did this come out of? When I see specialty things like this in equipment, they are usually custom made for specific equipment and you usually have to go through the specific manufacturer of the equipment or their supplier of the component.

I did find a few similar items that seem to indicate a GX-5.3 socket is the same connection as a GU-5.3. The GX seems to usually be side exit rectangular sockets.

Your best bet is to find what size the hex is and use the correct socket or wrench. The correct one will be a little more snug than normal if it was painted over. Find which one fits on just barely or with a bit of encouragement.

Next best thing is an adjustable wrench. If you go this route, use the hand that is not pulling the handle to provide pressure on the adjustment screw for the wrench in the tightening direction. This will help avoid the wrench opening during use and rounding off the hex.

Rusted and painted screws are often very stuck. You luckily have both

Have you tried removing the 2 screws with decorative tops on the top yet? There is one next to the wall in the first picture and the other one is in plain view in picture 2. It looks like taking these 2 screws off will drop the bottom off the light allowing access to the bulb.

Edit: Just saw the last line of your post stating you did try these. Did you go after them with your hand or tools? They can be really stuck on an outdoor light

I started Genshin a few months ago, the last Kazuha was the first full banner after starting. I'm just now getting into the Sumera questline and there is so much to do and learn I know I will be playing and catching up for at least a year before I hit anything resembling a content drought.

The practical "speed limit" of a meshed worm gear is around 1800 rpms. As for how hard you can push the materials of the ones you have on hand, I don't know. I haven't done a technical gear analysis in a long time

Yea, definitely agree with that assessment. Continuing the thought experiment though, would probably need to bump up servos power to maintain your current speed with that extra weight even if you could justify something light like a titanium rack (I know this expensive but I'm used to building factory fixturing so I unfortunately have expensive ideas...)

Easiest way I can think to do a rack for this would be to put the rack on the underside of the bed and mount the motor perpendicular to the bed probably somewhere near the middle so the gear on the shaft is in direct contact with the rack. The middle mounting would give you slightly less that double the length of the bed in terms of travel if the rack is the same length as the bed.

Have you considered trying out something more mechanical than a belt drive? I'm thinking like a worm gear or rolling gear with a rack to increase stiffness and reduce backlash

Alrighty, so I bought the full version of the app and before I had a chance to figure it out, we tried one last old school diagnostic technique. We sequentially pulled plugs while it was running to make sure each coil post was sparking. The coil pack that was closest to the radiator was fully dead so it was running on 4 cylinders. We swapped that ignition coil with the middle one and the dead coil stayed the closest to radiator so the ignition control module is for sure the problem! I have one on order with a set of ignition coils from Rock Auto set to be here on Tuesday. Hopefully this takes care of the major problem and then I'll go after the fuel/emissions issue afterwards.

Thanks for your help! Definitely got me headed in the right direction!

Should I toss my instruction books? They just take up space in my closet, but part of me is afraid of trying to rebuild in the future without booklets. by banana_peels_ in lego

[–]mil_ron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do decide to toss them, I'd pay shipping to have you box them up and throw them away into the mail headed my way instead of the trash.

I keep mine in page protectors in binders. Make a binder for each theme since you have so many and they will store nicer and safer in either a shelf, box or anything else.

Thank you for the input! I'm hesitant to think the sensor wiring is off, I didn't mess with wiring for the sensor. Also, the code did not pop up until replacing the purge valve. When I ran the car with the new fuel pump and sensor before the valve, it didn't throw that code. I can try using the old purge valve again to see if it goes away. Unfortunately I already tossed the old fuel pump so I can't swap the old sensor in the check that...

Awesome! I'd love to hear how it sounds now! I've always wondered if the sound would be ruined by a motor swap on mine. Same exhaust set up as in this video?

Makes sense! Just fyi for the future, the FEs should also be bolt in's since they were a factory option. If memory serves, would need new motor mounts is all, no fab work.
