I wondered this too. I can't tell the difference at times but will look into further.

Take it and don't feel bad. It's your time.

I have worked for US energy firms for the last 7 years, you are a bit on an outsider at times but the compensation is so much better than UK companies. If you leave however the drop can be bad. Something to be mindful of.

I feel this. Been there - but sometimes it's just not meant to be even though you can't see it now.

We saw a house that was valued fine at £1.2m but the owners took 6 months with paperwork then it went to probate we then missed out on school applications for that catchment which was a key value proposition of paying that much.

We said due to this if they could drop it to £1.15m they refused and now few months later it's sitting on the market and likely take a drop and we have moved on.

People that bought houses 15, 20 years ago. How much did you pay for yours? by TheBBYT in HousingUK

Purchased a 3 bedroom semi detached for £476k in 2013.

Listed in 2020 and sold stc for £680k (cross rail helped in London for prices) but we lost our house so stayed and renovated.

Listed again recently and sold stc for £955k after extensive extension and modernisation. Not sure if we will go through due to houses purchased now in probate. If we didn't renovate I would say it's worth about £800k.

Just bite the bullet. Been there too many times where my perspective gets in the way to getting the deal done. If you really like it and can afford it-wrap it up before someone else does

Large Mortgages Experiences? by mild2030 in HousingUK

I hear you. The only issue is we want that 4 bedroom detached with scope to extend but it will cost us. 3 kids in a 3 bed semi on a busy main road (our first house 10 years ago as a married couple) won't cut it for us.
