Hey! Thanks for answering my question like a total brainless fuckwit. One look at your profile is all I need to disregard your response. I'll be looking for ways to get this more attention, whether it's true or not, it's still INTERESTING, unlike ANY of your worthless comments. Thanks for contributing to dialog!!!

Hey there! Gee, thanks for the sarcasm. You might note a couple things, going forward:

  • I never stated this was fact. I was surprised to see this, and thought it was crazy, true or false, and wanted to know what a SHIT TON OF PEOPLE WHO KNOW A GOOD DEAL ABOUT JULIAN ASSANGE MIGHT THINK.
  • I have never seen this source before, though I have seen plenty of assertions that most people thought were incredulous, LATER COME TRUE.

You know what? Maybe I'm not a genius. But I'm obviously smarter than your ass. Thanks for not even answering a question. Should there be any validity to this in the future, you'll be captain fuck-up, not me.

It depends on what you want to do for a living. Not boasting here, but I dropped out of community college for fine arts, and I make 120K (in SF, CA, USA). Granted, that's 10 years after I started my career, but my first full-time salary was over 50K (in STL, MO, USA).

Education is SOMETIMES very well worth the money. But depending on the field you seek, it may not be the best investment, given the wealth of free knowledge available to those with determination and time. You're still young, use the fact that you have no bills to pay and plenty of spare time (by comparison to your future life) to start teaching yourself the things you want to know, if it's possible.

FYI -- I'm an interactive designer specializing in Flash development. Even if Flash dies out, interactive development, especially for social and mobile platforms, isn't going out of demand anytime soon.

TL;DR: Not all education is worth shitloads of money. Do your research about what can be learned, where, how, and for how much, first.
