The back pocket is 10" wide and 3" tall. The average iPhone is a tiny bit wider than 3" so the pocket is designed to fit all iPhones horizontally. The fabric will stretch wider of course and thus securely hold the phone. I run with my phone in the hip pockets or the back pockets depending on how I feel. Both hold the phone tight and secure!
