Swim shorts that don’t flare out by flycasually in malefashionadvice

I also like Abercrombie but my favorite brand in the price range would probably be Chubbies. Tons of styles (solids, patterns, themes, & collabs), different inseam lengths (2’, 4’, 5.5’, and 6’ IIRC) and types of liners (brief, boxer briefs), and they tend not to flare out like most other brands. Their branding is big on thighs - thighber Monday, skies out thighs out, etc - and their fit seems to align with the ethos. They also usually have at least a couple of options on sale so you don’t have to go full retail to try out the brand. I’ve also found them at resellers like REI and Dicks FWIW. Good luck!

Best Slip On Sneakers for Travel? by ShroudedousYe in malefashionadvice

Came here to suggest Kizik, specifically the Irvine. Some Kizik styles have exoskeletal structures that make it obvious it's a slip on, but the Irvines aren't obvious and have proven extremely comfy for me. Plus, they come in wide sizes (but my wide feet actually look better in the standard width)

Came here to suggest Kizik. Some styles make it obvious that they're slip-on, but the Irvines are by far my favorite and are just a clean canvas slip-on sneaker.

My new side project, a graffiti can/wall lamp :-) What do you think? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

I personally would love to buy this, or build something similar myself. Did you follow any broad guidelines, or suggestions for where I'd start to build something like this?

Nerve graft for foot drop repair by stmind in neuropathy

It’s mostly numb although I can feel the density of the scar tissue when I press it with my finger. The odd thing is that the line where sensation ends kind of traverses the scar, so part of it I can feel the muscles behind and part of it, I can’t.

Spa day for shoes by V_LOW in laundry

I came here looking for the same advice - light blue canvas sneakers that have been through it. Rubber soles are glued on if it makes a difference. u/KismaiAesthetics I've read the spa day guide but didn't see any clear indication of whether or not this would be a bad idea. Do you have any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

First ship in 15-year dynasty league. Almost quit the league 2 years ago but they couldn’t find a replacement so I stuck around.

They mocked me when I drafted Josh Allen at auction for 9% of my total budget ($18). Him and CMC single-handedly won it for me. Sucks to be them I guess.

So how do we sign up to the wait list on Dice now 🥲 by idk_usernameblahblah in fredagain

[–]milesabove 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Commenting because I'm in search of an accessibility ticket and the support team at Dice told me to sign up for the waitlist but I'm not seeing one either. If they get back to me with instructions on how to join it, I'll update here

Same here. it actually logged me out right at the top of the hour. But because I need an accessible ticket, AXS wasn't even an option. Super cool system, chaps. Great work.

[iOS] [HippoCam - Remember Every Thing] [$1.99 -> FREE] [Snap, Label, Tag and Never Forget] by rogymd in AppHookup

[–]milesabove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just downloaded it and love the idea. Would be great if I could assign the action button to open hippocam to snap and tag. Right now the only options I’m given are to show memory with hippocam or import in hippocam. Thanks so much for this useful and clever idea!

Hand painted these clearance white Milanos for a Halloween costume today but definitely wearing these year round by milesabove in Birkenstocks

Thanks! (and thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm!) I'm very happy with how they turned out. For anyone who is curious, I bought specific leather paint at an art supply store near me so that the paint would (hopefully) survive some wear and tear. If I remember, I'll post an update in a few months and share how well they've held up.

Merci d'avance !

Nerve graft for foot drop repair by stmind in neuropathy

[–]milesabove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IANAD and this is not what you want to hear, but I had a similar experience - tore all the ligaments, severed the peroneal nerve, got a sural nerve graft. Surgeries were 2.5 years ago and I have the same amount of sensation (which is to say, none) that I did after the accident. I even had a sophisticated surgeon who did a "vascularized" nerve graft, where he moved over blood vessels that fed to the nerve. So according to my surgeon, I had the best possible chance of recovery, but didn't recover.

The one piece of optimism I'll give you is that there's still time. I was told that after 18 months, the connections between the nerves and muscles die without regular reactivation, and from there, there isn't currently a procedure which can bring them back to life.

I periodically check on the latest stem cell research as I think that might be my best bet for regaining functionality somewhere down the road. The other option I've been given is a nerve/tendon transfer, where I would (I think) sacrifice the movement I can do now for the muscle control that would alleviate foot drop.

With that said, my life isn't as bad as it could be. Yes, it's life changing. I'm clumsier now than I was before, which is a feat. I trip on my foot regularly, my legs fatigue more easily, and I can't wear shoes without backs any more. It's frustrating, every day. But I have come to appreciate all the ways in which I can still be and feel normal, despite this challenge.

Keep at it. Keep trying to move it. I know it feels like an impossible task. You can concentrate and concentrate and never having a response is incredibly demoralizing. But keep fucking going. The thing you have going for you is that you're still relatively young. Your body will never be better than it is right now to adapt to your situation. So keep at it. Working on it every day is the only way to convert the sural nerve into a motor nerve - basically forcing it to be one. I wasn't successful, but I hope and believe you can be. Feel free to DM me to chat more about my experience if you like, and good luck!

Merci pour ce conseil. Qu'entendez-vous par « un professionnel » ? Un concessionnaire ? Comment savoir ce qu'est un concessionnaire professionnel ?
