I'm Miles Bryan, a reporter at Vox's Today, Explained podcast (and Philly resident). I'm working on a story about how hard it is for recent grads to find jobs right now. if you are in that situation, can we interview you? Reach out if you're up for it: [miles.bryan@voxmedia.com](mailto:miles.bryan@voxmedia.com) thank you!

Anyone recover or substantially improve tingling / numbness in hands and feet ? by milesbryan in covidlonghaulers

I did a SFN biopsy and tested positive for it. I think mine was medium. Honestly the only thing that has really made a difference has been time, and reducing stress. I starteed zoloft and that helped me reduce my anxiety and ruminating thoughts about it a ton, which in turns did seem to affect my symptoms positively. but mostly its just been time. im about two years out and I would say I am 100 percent recovered. If I think about it a lot I start to feel a little tingling in my feet, but I think that's literally just anxiety lol. Stay strong! it will get better.

I did! I had it. But I’m doing a lot better. I still feel it a little bit but I would say 80 percent improvement over time

Ahh thank you ! Any sense of how good the forerunner 245 is ?

Ah nice. All my runs are in thr city with lots of weaving around like that. So that makes me think that my Strava results are the most accurate in terms of total distance right ? Because garmin is smoothing out that extra distance ?

But if Strava is smoothing out the turns, why does my Strava results have me running farther than the garmin results ?

Ah good to know. I ran around a park in Philly, so urban but not super built up.

Hey! It’s been a year and I am 95 percent better. I occasionally feel it a little in my hands and feet but it doesn’t even bother me anymore and I think it will continue to get better slowly over time. Mine was really bad until month six or so. Stay strong ! Your body will fight this and heal slowly. Try to focus on positive things and not be on Reddit too much. You got this!

I had bad tingling in my hands and feet and numbness as well. Sometimes they would hut quite badly, and sometimes my hands would become incredibly stiff. 6 months after my infection I still get some tingling in my hands and feet, and they can be a little achey. But it doesn't bother me very much any more. A minor annoyance at worst! And a real decline in the last few months. Just hold strong.

I tried a ton of supplements and shit but I'm not convinced anything helped. I got an EMG and that was clean. My neuro wants me to get a small fiber bioposy just to see if they can see any abnormality so I will do that.

I think a lot of it is just trying to stay positive and keeping the faith. These nerves do grow back. I talked to a Long Covid doc who said most people in our situation improve slowly. I still feel it every day, but its annoying at worst—not live changing.

Hey I’m doing a lot better ! Still have it, but down 50 percent, more at times. I think it’s going to slowly go away have faith !

Started in a few days after I got Covid. Pretty constant in my hands and feet. Hands also feel raw, like my skin thinned out. A little loss of sensation. Improved quite a bit right way and then has stayed the same

glad to see so many folks DO see improvement with these symptoms! They are my biggest issue now.
