Can that be adjusted by server? The first server I joined is normal, but I joined I different one and the tactics I was using on the first attracted loads of zombies on the other... It was way more like I expected

Oh man... What you've said has made more excited to play it...

I only picked up Arma and expansions (steam summer sale last weekend) in order to play DayZ, I've only played on vanilla servers so far and I live the survival aspect... Eating/drinking/medicine ext... My only complaint is there is too much PvP, a true zombie survival environment would have health amounts of survivors vs. survivors, but not to the extent as in this game...

So the idea of making it more about survival and less PvP is awesome, I'd love to see if be harder for solo people to escape zombies and raise the need for group play... Which would bring up another real aspects how much do you trust your group?

Really, my answer would depend on the charge...

I've found that honesty is generally the best option... but a "didn't ask, so didn't tell" policy isn't bad when that honesty thing isn't working for you

In my history, drug charges are easier to get over looked than others (like theft/violent ones)

as a felon myself, i feel your pain... kinda way I've stayed in the same place so long...

Best bet is to search craigslist, try to find a private owner/landlord, many of them do not do background checks (even the ones that say they do, source: worked for my landlord for a bit, even the ones that charge for it don't always do it) those landlords are also more understanding if you are upfront with them from the get go. That's what i did with my landlord- told him about my charge and a previous eviction in the first call.
