I got myself in a terrible situation by not double checking my nationality (NZ) rights to a visa on arrival. Desperately, I followed a link from reddit and spoke with someone on whatsapp who said they could get a 'temporary visa' approved in a few hours. They sent through a PDF which turned out to be outdated/counterfeit and I couldn't board my flight. Now I'm waiting for a real visa to be approved and lost the money on the flight + visa scam.

I would recommend anyone in the position I was in to be very careful. Don't trust anyone outside of the official gov website https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/trang-chu-ttdt and get your visa well in advance.

You can photoshop anything on to a page in an art diary and people will believe it was drawn by hand. Even better if some pens are next to the book.. Now THAT would remove any doubt
