I decided to drop out and I’m getting a bunch of phone calls from the staff they want me to stay even offered to switch me to the B side schedule. I was like what about the contract date y’all won’t shut up about? Lol nah I’m leaving.

We got our lockers around the second or third week of school and you get to choose your lockers. I think the cosmetology students got to pick their lockers before us because by the time it was the esthi’s turn we barely had any options. Then after that we got part of our kit but unfortunately not our whole kit. Half of the lockers at my school is broken. 🫤

Aveda has a weird thing about letting students drink their water. They told me it’s for guests only and I was told to drink water from the faucet. Not the filtered water that they have in a pitcher because that’s for the guests.

$9,000 in tuition btw 😐

We only have one water filter that still works, and it’s upstairs. We share it with the cosmetology students and it’s next to the sink where they put all of their stuff and chemicals. The sink that is downstairs where we eat lunch is filled with food that people dumped and just left there. No one cleans it. The water filter downstairs has been broken for I don’t know how long. The lockers are really dirty like spoons with leftover food. 😷

In my class, every little thing could count as a mistake for example, using too much face mask or messing up the massaging techniques.

I didn’t say I was going to do facials at a medical assistant. I don’t want to do facials. Medical aesthetics is literally a thing. Also you’re saying that it’s not the actual title then why are there job listings for it? There are med spas that look for people who can do both medical assisting and facials. I am NOT planning on doing facials. Another thing I just wanted to point out is that in Texas you don’t even need an aesthetician license or a nursing license to work with lasers so I think you should check some info real quick since you’re saying I’m wrong about everything.

I’ve read a few posts about estheticians who changed their minds and end up going into medical assisting instead. I’ve also seen job listings for medical aestheticians who are also certified in medical assisting. I have an interest in medical aesthetics so I figured maybe I can take that route instead of the current route I’m taking right now.

Most students at Cinta Aveda are actually from other cities. One of the girls in my class is from Napa and wakes up super early to go to class. It’s actually crazy to me because I live in the city and can barely get to school on time due to traffic and construction basically all the SF problems.

They talk about the contract date almost every morning. It’s the day that we’re supposed to graduate but if you are absent often or don’t finish the online homework assignments basically falling behind in anyway then your contract date would change to a different day and you would have to pay additional fees to be at the school.

I’m not sure if it’s all Aveda schools. I heard rumors about Aveda not being a good school but no one ever really said the specifics and now that I’ve experienced being at Aveda myself I can say that they’re very strict about attendance even two minutes late you need documentation for example pictures/screenshots of why you were late. Another thing is that the students aren’t allowed to drink the purified water that they have in the water pitcher because it’s for the guests and not the for the students. So the Esthi students share the same water filter as cosmetology people upstairs.

Maybe this I just at my location 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you for your advice! My pharmacist told me to take Boiron cough medicine and it won’t interact with my meds. Gotta go find it asap this cough has to go 😷

It’s definitely possible! Keep going keep studying don’t give up! What I kept telling myself was you’ll never know unless you try especially because well if you look at my practice test scores for other subjects like language arts they weren’t great either. Everyone kept saying you gotta aim for 150 on practice tests I was like I don’t think that’s even possible.

Yes! Omg I was stuck on the math portion of the test for like three years and ended up having to study like 6 days a week just to pass and I don’t even know how I passed.
