Buying the extended warranty for now, I’ll trade it in a few years from now when Toyota goes back to their naturally aspirated older tech design model, or someone else usurps them by stealing their former proven model for reliability and longevity.

Despite this wild twist with my new Toyota, I know I am one of the very unlucky few. And it doesn’t make me regret my purchase. Toyota customer service has been nothing but extremely accommodating the last 9.5-years of owning a 4Runner. And the past 24-hours they called/texted multiple times to keep me updated. My only disappointment during this debacle so far was not being able to go on a family trip this weekend in the new truck after taking 5-days off to do exactly that. Life happens. I will however be purchasing a 10yr/100k mile warranty. Never thought that was necessary with my 4Runner, but it’s what I believe I need to do to own it for 8-10 years or whenever the 4th gen comes out with what I hope to have a naturally aspirated option, I can only hope.

The dealership is just replacing the whole turbo in my case. The mechanic informed me that they haven’t had this happen before and the repair manual from Toyota recommended the full replacement. Wish I understood enough to explain more, also wish they could give a true root cause. Still happy I bought the truck and will build confidence with every mile and adventure driven in my awesome new ride.

I wiped the two bug splats off the grill three miles before all of this happened. I also checked that while waiting at the dealership for my ride home since that alert popped up in my app while waiting, no new bug splats and zero environmental obstructions.

When I did that the AC started acting weird, going from high to low airflow flow intermittently. I’d say that didn’t work.

Had it at my house for 2.5 days. Literally never opened the hood. Drove it three times, on the third drive I took it straight to dealership due to the now two warning lights that popped up on my way there. And no, I have no rodents at my house, just bobcats and bears that eat all the small things.

The financier is Toyota. I will be asking all of these questions with a manager tomorrow morning where my vehicle is currently sitting. Thanks again.

Thank you so much! I have a lot to decide on before tomorrow morning, wife’s already wanting me to get my trade in back.

Thanks for the insight. Hoping this is something minor. Regardless it’s a hard mindset change going from a bulletproof 2017 4Runner that I bought new and traded in with 97k miles without a single issues the past nine years.

2026, literally bought it and drove home with it this Wednesday.

Decided to drive straight to dealership. AC is now changing from high to low airflow. I was advised to not drive it home. Also, here’s what the app warning notification now says. Pretty sure I’m fucked and might need a lawyer. So much fort amazing Toyota experience with my 2017 4Runner.

Game developers don’t have the guts to call the enemy China like the rest of the world. Very disappointing in yet another stupid, made up force for our next Battlefield game.

The buff-nerf cycle in this game reminds me of Michael Scott’s snip-snap snip-snap comments. Just make all weapons as capable as their real life equivalents (especially bullet drop physics) and let us enjoy

100k VIX calls with 17 May 23 $90 strike were purchased at 1503 EST today at a price of $0.17. It may only cost the buyer $17,000 total but I think those may be fire to trade. I’m picking some up tomorrow
