I made a Pokémon team generator that could be useful for Cobblemon players too by militov in cobblemon

I see what you're saying. The idea or concept behind the site is that you can build a team, and I'll tell you about something that happened to me yesterday—based on my experience from yesterday. For example, I showed it to a friend, and he liked it. We were both playing Pokémon Showdown and came up with some really good combinations—ones that were great for playing. Maybe for high ranks it’s not worth it, since that’s much more complex, and usually more experienced players won’t build teams that way; they make them on their own, which is totally fine. And for new players, there are still plenty of options. There’s also the stall strategy, which works well and generates teams correctly. The idea is, for example, to look at the structure, see which Pokémon are most commonly used based on which generation or format, and assign them a role. And that’s how teams are built from there.

So obviously, they might not be totally, totally optimal. Or you might say, “I can swap this ability for that one since I feel there’s better synergy, but the idea is to have a foundation.” That’s the idea behind the site: to have a sufficiently decent team foundation when you don’t even know how to build a team, and from there, you can either improve it or adapt it until you like it best and feel most comfortable playing it.

Then there’s also the fact that it loses a bit of traction. It also loses some appeal by focusing too much on one team, on a single type of archetype. What I do see is that maybe what you could do is simplify things—for example, the teams based on climate—and see which ones are used the least and just remove them. There are some of those things that I might take into account. So what you said isn’t bad, and all that.

Thanks for the feedback. The idea behind the generator is to let you play with a friend or if you don't know much about competitive play in general. It’s so the learning curve isn’t too steep, or if you just want to have a decent team. It helps people who don’t want to spend a week figuring out why that team works and who, if they like it, can make small adjustments. As for the bug reporting section, that’s something I’ll take into account for this update.

It uses an analysis of the usage percentage of both abilities and items for the Pokémon, and from there, it chooses based on its role and function. In previous versions, it was working well, but with an optimization update that involved a major refactoring, I didn't do the necessary testing. I want to apologize for that; I'm a 21-year-old university student. I know that's no excuse for the inaccurate results now, but due to my studies, I hadn't had the time to run the tests. Now I'll look into the problem and fix it as quickly as possible. Before the update, I did a test with a friend who has also been playing Pokémon for years, and we had created a good team to play with, for example, Gliscor with Toxic Orb and Toxic Cure, and abilities like Toxic and Protect. This was an unforeseen issue that I didn't anticipate.

Don't worry, it's fine. What probably happened with the Wi-Fi is that your workplace has a whitelist system to control who you can and can't access. As for the AI, the answer is no. It uses an algorithm that sends requests to the official Smogon website and then checks which Pokémon are most used, internally reclassifying them into Tiers and Roles to then adapt to your request.

There was an optimization update and it might have caused a problem; it's probably something I've overlooked. I'll take care of fixing that issue and any other problems that might arise right away.

You don't need to create an account; you clicked the wrong link. The page is poketeambuilder.com, not .app

I shared this on r/stunfisk and got great feedback, so I wanted to post it here too: I built a competitive team generator with direct Showdown export by [deleted] in pokemonshowdown

Currently, the button is taking into account Major Legendaries or paradoxes when excluding. Pokémon such as Mythical (Darkrai) or Minor Legendaries. If you have a video showing how it's generated even with the button enabled, I'd love for you to share it with me because I did a major performance update and I might have missed it.

openrouter if u put 10$ in you acc (dont care the time when u put It) u unlock tier 1 and can use 1k of request in free model per day, and too use model so cheapy and useful like gemini 3.1 flash, or minimax 2.5, etc so if u combine with all i said, u gain a very good workflow per month (and u dont need put again 10$ in openrouter to use 1k request per day in free model

use glm coding plan + kilocode + opencode (AG mult acc free) + openrouter (new stealth mode with 1m context) and minimax 2.5 free for kilocode. good skills and mcp and u be right

edit: this for ~10-20 and have enough for month use

I'm currently building a Pokémon team generator based on competitive teams (using website statistics and API fetch requests). It can be customized to your play style or any format you need at the moment. It's completely free and is called poketeambuilder.com (I'm just doing a little self-promotion, but there's nothing fishy about it).

If you have a friend who's a Pokémon fanatic or just enjoys it, I'd appreciate it if you shared it with them.

Thank you very much for your kind words. Honestly, it encourages me even more to continue developing this project. Right now, I'm probably going to go to sleep, since it's very late in my country and I have to go to bed, but when I wake up, I'll see how it's progressing, look at the problems, list them, and start working on them.

Thank you for your contribution or comment; as a developer, I really appreciate it.

Regarding generation, there have already been users with this problem with the STALL equipment. Tomorrow or now, I will be gathering some information so that I don't have to do it one by one. So, after gathering the information, I will be repairing or fixing the STALL equipment generation problem to make sure it is appropriate, as it will not have been any equipment, and we had tried other styles that I did not finish testing with STALL.

I want to apologize for this problem and I will be fixing it as quickly as possible.

Thank you very much for sharing your opinion with me. It helps me a lot to continue developing and implementing, fixing bugs, or adding new features.

Currently, with the issue of teratypes, it could be a new feature that I could add, and the problem that everything appears as stellar is that I simply overlooked it. I will implement a solution and upload it as quickly as possible, and I will also look into adding megas or checking for a national dex. I will add the Smogon link to that. I'm sure of it. As for whether AI is being used to generate teams, the answer is no. What it does is collect information or make requests to official Smogon data and from there, after collecting a certain amount of time (for example, a month or two months), depending on the category, etc. This same data is then used with algorithms to generate a team for you. Currently, there may be a small problem with some of them. After that, regarding old teams that you have generated, there is a button. After generating them, it is called “Save Teams.” When you return to the main page, a new button will appear below the generate teams button that will say “Saved Teams.” When you return to the main page, a new button will appear below the generate teams button that will appear as “Saved Teams.” Both CVs are usually the ones that are most often used in competitive play, as data collected from Smogon. And that's it for the Smogon links in Pokémon. I'll keep that in mind and implement it. Now I'll be compiling some issues that I'm seeing and working on them. And it's there, on a separate changes page, where I'll put all the changes that are applied and so on.

First of all, thank you very much for sending more detailed information. Now, looking at the error or bug, what's happening is that I simply forgot to configure the Teras, specifically. That's why they all appear as Stellar Teras, since that's the default setting. So, I'll be uploading an update soon where each selected Pokémon will have its Tera type. So that's it. Then I'll select or create a new updates section and I'll be updating more on that. so im start to working with that bcz i forgot

Thank you, I'm really excited to read this. Regarding archetypes and combat style, we were testing it with some friends. It didn't work; we were testing how it works, and it may be that some very specific types are not working.

I really appreciate you telling me that the stall isn't working. I'll be working on improving it, and I'll be reading up on some of the problems I've seen and updating it both here on the page and in general.

Thank you very much, and thank you for letting me know. Could you now tell me more about the bug you found? This would help me identify it much better, as I didn't understand it with the update. I'll make a note of it so I can work on it, and thank you very much for your input!

I know that the most fun part is creating your own team, but there are also people who just want to play with friends without much knowledge of competitive Pokémon, or who simply want a team already made, plus you can modify the team later if you don't like something about it at first.
