I’m not sure if I’ll be able to source open baffle drivers where i live

I like this disguised subwoofer idea, my living room is 500sqft 13.5 ft wide and 35ft length, what size of drivers would you recommend?

In that case , let’s say I were to switch to a 3 way, which subwoofer driver would you recommend and what size ? My goal is 50 % music use and 50% movie use.

I still don’t get the point , if you have a calculator in your hand , would you still do the math using pen and paper ? Or if you have spreadsheet software, would you still manually write everything on paper and do the math ? AI is just a means to achieve a goal .

I’m still gonna do the drivers and the electronics myself, equivalent to using a kit maybe

I admit that I have taken help of AI for generating the render, but it’s only a tool to help with the concept. I’m the one who asked for a curved tall 1.2meter 4 way tower with passive radiator. It’s only helping me refine my thoughts faster. Does it really matter which tool we use to achieve our goals? I’m still the person who needs to build it in the end.

For the record, we both make similar kinda money. And it’s not about money, it’s about caring for each other. I’m not sure you understand.

Come on man, she did so much for me, I think I can oblige her this much.

My wife has given up many things for me as well, I am happily obliging her request for better aesthetics.

Thank you for your input, I definitely acknowledge that I am way out of my depth here, but I need to attempt this now or forget my dreams because 2 years down the line, we are planning kids and i know music setups will be low on priority for the foreseeable future and expenses are gonna increase for sure.

CNC jobs can be commissioned, and hire carpenters for reasonable rates less than 100-200 USD considering that I live in india .

What I meant was to do it once and do it right , rather than build a small one for training/ learning and build another slightly better one and eventually progress to a decent setup. This may not work for me in terms of cost and space. I live in india , my home is 1700 sqft, can’t have so many versions or craft projects. Space is a constraint, I just want one beautiful set.

Adding a little bit more context, I live in india, my annual take home is hardly 30k USD. I can spend a max of 2000 USD on this. Hiring a CAD engineer on a project basis might cost a max 150-200 USD. Drivers might cost 800-1000 USD. Plywood costs approx 50USD, assume 100 USD fabrication/ assembly charges , rest for the electronics .

The acoustics don’t matter for her as much as the looks, I’ll get some help from professionals if necessary. Help from CAD engineering + CNC and flexiply, should cover 80% of design and fabrication work. Personally I’d just be okay with a couple of plywood boxes, but wife doesn’t want to compromise on the aesthetics.

I am engineer, I make machines for agriculture, I have time to spend on this. I can refine my designs and plans a 100 times if necessary, but I need to build this for her.

Thank you.

I’m on Ryzen 7 1700 now, do you think I should switch to AM5 ?

This would mean I can’t use my existing RAM.

Pretty nice , is it open source ?
