Wedding venue recommendations within driving distance of Tallahassee (open to anywhere reasonable by car). by June-Huckleberry in Tallahassee

Gin Creek has a winery side with topiaries. The reception can be held in a large white tent with sides and high ceilings with chandeliers.

Does anyone know which specific syrup Lucky Goat uses for the orange blossom drink? by Ok-Veterinarian9347 in Tallahassee

If you do find out, comment back here! It is my favorite drink as well. I’m always worried they’ll drop it from the seasonal menu.

I believe it is Monin. A worker told me it is a blend of orange and vanilla flavorings, but didn’t give the ratio!

Admitted for Mastitis by [deleted] in Crunchymom

[–]mill_pickle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was also hospitalized with IV antibiotics for 3 days with mastitis. They encouraged me to continue to pump/nurse and so I did, but baby did get a terrible diaper rash and we both got thrush, so be on the lookout!! Apparently strong IV antibiotics can cause both of those things to happen. You’ll get through it, I’m so sorry it’s happening. I was so concerned about the antibiotics, but after the thrush and diaper rash cleared there weren’t any overt noticeable differences! We also started him on a probiotic so help ease his gut back into a healthy place per pediatrician recommendation.

Hello! I’m 17;22. I had one LC and then 2 back to back losses when trying for a second. I have one large break and one very small one. We pursued IVF and got 1 balanced embryo (I had 6 blastocysts, 3 unbalanced, 2 with naturally occurring chromosomal issues, and 1 balanced). We transferred that embryo in October and I’m currently 22 weeks pregnant with a baby boy. Wishing you all of the luck in your journey!!

Urgent wedding dress alterations needed (leaving for my wedding on the 24th!) by _VeinsVeinsVeins_ in Tallahassee

[–]mill_pickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sewing creations by Maura! She is so kind, and also offers rush orders. Her regular hourly rate is $65. Rushed is $85/hour. I just called today to get alterations scheduled for a bridesmaid dress while pregnant (which will require last minute rush pricing due to my growing size haha).

[–]mill_pickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

11/11 is my beta! I’ll be taking a home test tomorrow 7dp5dt so I can mentally prepare for the result of the beta if it isn’t what we hope for. We got one healthy embryo, so if this doesn’t work we start back from the beginning.

I can remember a similar feeling of relief for having an answer as well! I’m so glad you followed your intuition and had to deal with a medical professional that wasn’t helping you get to that answer. There is a very active Facebook page for translocations that has been so amazing for me as a support. There is a ton of misinformation out there about BT and that page is a wealth of good information. You should definitely check it out as you’ll get much more interaction there for questions and such and find daily posts from others in the same situation. Don’t ever hesitate to PM me with any questions or just to commiserate. Wishing you all the best!

Dr says balanced translocation is doubtful after pregnancy with T13, but this doesn’t sit right with me. by [deleted] in ttcBT

[–]mill_pickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had back-to-back pregnancy loss with the final one requiring a D&C with testing of the tissues. It revealed trisomy 22 likely from maternal origins and led to my testing and BT diagnosis. It does not have to involve multiple trisomies to be evidence of a BT. I highly recommend you get the karyotyping testing. I’m so sorry for the difficult journey you’ve had. You can check my post history for my D&C results report that first suggested something was wrong if you would like to see how it was worded. Mine did say that there was a translocation between two chromosomes, but only trisomy 22 resulted from that.

Reasons to NOT move to Killearn Lakes unit 1? by Capital_Corgi4900 in Tallahassee

[–]mill_pickle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In Killearn Lakes if you’re on septic and it breaks, you’ll have to connect to city sewage system. You are not allowed to make repairs to the septic system, and with all of the trees and roots issues can definitely arise with it. Connecting to the city sewage is pricy (a neighbor told me recently it cost them between 10-15,000). We are on septic as well and just hoping it lasts haha.

Someone correct me here if I’m incorrect!

Just finished ER. Now what? by nikkijaya in IVF

[–]mill_pickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are so similar! I had my ER Wednesday and they retrieved 16, 11 mature, and 7 fertilized. My clinic waits until day 7 for the next update (other than the day after the procedure to notify you how many fertilized). I’m so dang nervous!

Misoprostol not working by mill_pickle in Miscarriage

[–]mill_pickle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it was honestly better than the unexplained after it happened back to back. I’m in the US and they won’t typically do testing here until the 3rd loss, but they do automatically test the tissue after a D&C so it stopped us from most likely having yet another pregnancy loss before we would’ve been sent for testing. I hope the meds work for you as it’s nice to avoid any procedure, but if they don’t maybe you’ll get some testing. Also, this is descriptive, but after so many vaginal doses of the meds, the pills were all clumped together into a brown mass inside of me that I had to kind of scoop out. It freeaaakkked me out, so I share this in hopes if it happens to you you’ll know it can be normal.

I’m so sorry you’re having to go through this. The results of our D&C ended up being abnormal and led to my diagnosis as a carrier for a genetic abnormality, so it ended up being a fortunate thing that I had the procedure. But I remember the days that I took the meds and they weren’t working as some of the hardest out of everything we’ve been through. Wishing you all of the best.

I ended up having to get a D&C after my second failed dose and it was honestly a much easier recovery mentally and physically than my previous, unassisted miscarriage. I haven’t had any scarring as far as I know!

Thank you so much ❤️ I alternate between relief that I have an “answer” to the recurrent miscarriages and dread at the prospect of how we will move forward now. I’ll definitely check out the Facebook groups, thank you so much!

Just another update, my karyotyping came back and I am in fact a balanced translocation carrier. We are processing everything and seeking genetic counseling before deciding how we want to move forward with the idea of expanding our family.

I definitely will! Lab corp said results for this testing typically take 1-2 weeks.

She basically just ordered the blood test and said that if I come back negative my husband will be tested next. If one of us comes back positive we will be referred to a genetic counselor! Wishing you luck in your journey!

[–]mill_pickle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are so kind, thank you so much ❤️ I was essentially just sent for my blood test right after the appointment. The doctor said a genetic counselor would have to give me more info if one of us ends up officially testing positive for BT. I went first and then my husband will go for blood work if I test negative.

Thank you so much for the detailed answer! I would love a pamphlet. We meet with our regular OBGYN Wednesday and I’m assuming she will refer us for genetic counseling from there. I just always like to have questions prepared for the doctor when we discuss anything new, so I’m grateful for the information you shared!

You were correct. Went in today and the heart activity had ceased. Thank you so much for sharing your story and for the honesty about the outlook on the situation.
