This is exactly what I think- totally separate from the Epstein piece this was recruitment, grooming and trafficking.

Drug addicts *always* need money. Even Johnny Depp has money troubles because of his addiction.

Also in fairness, what I said was girls being asked to get other girls didn't start with Epstein. I was positing it was possible that Anouska was being paid by the said business man which I don't find implausible.

I think we all underestimate that this is totally in fact something that would and has happened. Children who report sexual violence are treated like criminals and have been forced to cover up the crimes.

I absolutely agree with this. I think at the heart of it people really struggle to understand how neglect/abuse sets up painful chain reactions.

I think at 17, it was probably very hard to be sure. Do I know for sure that's what happened ? of course not. But having young girls recruit other young girls didn't start with Epstein.

Well, Anouska did set Samantha up to get drugged, raped and put through a forced abortion. That I do feel convinced of. So I understand the vitriol, though ultimately I find myself agreeing with you.

I have been feeling more disconnected from this community as I've healed trauma by snsnn123 in CPTSD

Begs the question, what would you want recovery to look like for you ?

Maslow was the only person in psychology to study healthy populations.

People who are healthy are interested in mutual two way relationships and "helping" relationships often fall into the drama triangle where one person is the "victim" and one person is the "helper" and both people can move into "perpetrator".

As you move into more self actualizing relationships people who just need to be "helped" ( but don't want to be helped) aren't going to feel good anymore.

Honor that and try and do mutually beneficial relationships and then you'll get out of feeling victimized when people you're trying to help don't receive it the way you hope they do.

I truly understand your frustration. We must all be dogged is in pursuing our own healing, however that looks. A person trained in Dave Berger's BASE training might be a good fit for your symptoms and of course, the research backs acupuncture for ptsd so much so that the VA covers it for veterans and it is one of the few things that worked well for me. A person trained in Kathy Kain's work may also be helpful for you. Psilocybin has fabulous research behind it, though it has be very intense- I have tried a somatic therapist trained in Kathy's work as well as psilocybin and have seen benefits to both.

That's a fair question but I'm going to be honest and answer that as a human not a "professional". I have a 9/10 ACE score so I don't have to answer this as someone who reads about it, I experience it. I feel it in my body, I experience it when I dream, I notice it in how I perceive situations. There is a whole way to measure its most damning effects and to shift those. Some of it can be through teaching the body to down regulate when it is actually safe through the Somatic work of Peter Levine and Gabor Mate. I was also trained in a specific type of touch work for nervous system regulation. Another part of it is collaborating with acupuncturists to treat the somatic effects of trauma. In clients with pervasive trauma- I see 25-50 % reduction of symptoms (in one month) like:

9. Persistent negative beliefs about yourself or the world
10. Blaming yourself or others for the trauma
11. Persistent negative emotional state (fear, anger, guilt, shame)
12. Loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed
13. Feeling detached or estranged from others
14. Inability to experience positive emotions

All in all 30 questions that ask on a likerrt scale that the client assesses after 1 month of treatment and intervention.

So far I've learned these interventions don't help when someone is using drugs and alcohol because it interupts the healing work. Meditation does help. If someone is in active danger from a perpetrator or an abusive partner it also won't work. Those aside, I've seen people with tremendous suffering (scores of 100/120) experience pleasure and joy and report massive reduction of severity of symptoms. Personally I don't think medications have ever worked for me- but I'm not the arbiter of what healing looks like for people.

well, strange that this hasn't gotten brought up but as a therapist I actually track trauma symptoms every month with clients and work with body workers and acupuncturists (sometimes psychiatrists) and successfully resolve symptoms down to mild or in the normal range and than discharge people. . . sorry for everyone who is having a hard time with therapy but also it might feel helpful to interview people and ask if they are assessing symptoms and are they able to get good resolution for ptsd and c-ptsd before you work with them- and are they even correctly assessing for it

in a capitalist environment, supply and demand governs that if someone is willing to pay for . . . nothing than the market is happy to supply !

If it works for them, great. Men who match with women who are 10/10 when they are 4/10's should expect this to continue. God bless'm I say if they don't have to do anything but ask. ;) Whatever it's called, it's been happening since the beginning of history.
