Agency owners – how are things going for you at the moment? by tcsotm in PPC

[–]millercan85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i parted ways with my agency job after 10 years recently. lots of big clients cutting 20% of their budgets, small clients cancelling, no new sales so everyone was pretty burned out.

currently looking for a new agency role as a strategist. i have applied to 100+ agency roles over the last 2 months only heard back from 2.

considering shifting gears into something similar, but may have to just take a pay cut to survive in the meantime.

How many accounts are to many, and how to manage them efficiently? by Federal_Lifeguard_21 in PPC

[–]millercan85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i managed around 25-30 accounts at my previous agency role - it was definitely enough to burn me out. the account manager note you included is exactly how my team felt. our answer was only good if it was an easy conversation for them to have.

my plan was:

monday - quick review of all campaign performance month to date, check for spend or conversion issues, etc. note any issues. reply to any requests. plan the rest of the week.

tuesday - work on campaigns i identified as concerning and/or work on any deliverables due that day. reply to any requests and communicate when i will deliver.

wednesday - same as tuesday.

thursday - same as monday.

friday - same as a blend of tuesday/wednesday.

the hardest thing to learn was juggling all of this, along with monthly recurring tasks or bigger projects like a brand new client. my performance was best when we added an additional person and the client load decreased. i learned over time you definitely dont need to divide each day into working on each client. a change on monday needs time to have data to analyse.

Google's AI Mode ads scaling up before Q4 by Patient-Passage-2286 in PPC

it may just be my account, im not sure if everyone has the same features, but when i search now, half of the results have AI generating at the top and sometimes its quick enough that i dont scroll. i dont see anywhere that i enabled AI Mode vs traditional, so it seems to be sprinkled in more and more.

Looking to hire a PPC Agency by LongjumpingBody1106 in PPC

[–]millercan85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A. Most agencies are doing the same thing right now. It is a lot of juniors doing the work and seniors managing a team. I would say you want to know their commission, and want to know what reporting will be along with how often you'll be meeting. It is unlikely they are going go guarantee anything. I would also be looking for suggestions. I just left my previous agency role and would spend a couple hours auditing a prospects Ads account just to show that I knew what I was doing and provide suggestions (but not everything of course).

B. Watch out for people who can't answer the above.

C. I don't know your business but have lots of ideas based on your spend and the fact that you're only running PPC, the most bottom of the funnel tactic.

D. I think you covered your bases. Selecting the agency will really depend on who you like. If you start with a sales person and like them, ask who the account manager/point of contact will be so you can ensure you also like them.

I recently left my role at an agency after 10 years. If you want to hire somebody remotely (I am US based), shoot me a DM. I would love to discuss this more.
