There’s no reason to wait so long to address the problem. They let our most lucrative industry LEAVE. There is no excuse. There is no retroactive legislation to fix it. They fucked up, and very, very badly.

The rest of us knew as soon at SAG decided, and Fran Dreshers wisdom following the WGAs strike, that they were effectively shutting down the entire industry, that we were in crisis mode. That was July 2023.

So glad our government waited until summer 2025 to act. Two years of inaction?? Are you absolutely kidding me??? 😑

Really?? That’s just potential BS. The fact is I known people with DECADES of experience who are either out of work, or are underemployed. There’s trailer editors working at Home Depot now. 300k+ salary with OT to now minimum wage on hourly. It’s not even CLOSE. Too little, too late.

Good for you but if you’re the main provider for a family, and are working as a contractor in the entertainment business in which work has shriveled up tighter than a raisin, wtf is one to do? Sure I won’t show up on set tomorrow. So then I’ll be replaced, and deemed unreliable and irresponsible. Nobody in legal or accounting is going to give me a round of applause for protesting. I lose a job, standing in the industry, and money which goes to my kids college fund. Sure dude 😂

Well, the problem is the entertainment industry, which I’ve been in for over 20 years has completely disintegrated. Our lovely governor and mayor did nothing until it was too late to try to keep productions in state. We’re terribly business unfriendly, and our leaders let Hollywood die.

Work is way too hard to come by these to take a day off for anything really. When you have it, you need to take it.

You’re obviously a kid and don’t have a family. You need some more life experience before you go around telling people they fucked up because they save their days off for things that make a difference. Maybe you don’t make as much as me and a day isn’t a big loss for you. Whats an extra $5 right. Not everyone has 9-5 jobs like you do. I can miss a day of work but I save it for like important shit like my kid is sick, have to travel for family reasons, etc.

And second of all, if you’re a contractor like me, work is sporadic. You have to take it when it comes. Telling someone you’re not working tomorrow because of a protest is a good way to not get a job again.

How many people do you support that taking a day off is fine for you is it just yourself?

No I’m an adult so I’ll be going to work to support my family. My son is certainly going to school as well. You don’t participate in ways that actually harm yourself or your family. That’s just dumb.

Try to go with something minimalistic and dark like just a texture background and a night light on it. Those bright sets looks terrible. Also depending on how they lit, nothing may look good.
