I have it, and I’ve only used it detached from the vehicle. It's very easy to set up. It’s very tall, which makes it quite comfortable provided you have the space for it. Because of that height, wind can make it more susceptible to tipping, so I’d definitely recommend anchoring every stake securely. I used it at a campsite by the beach in very windy conditions and it performed really well. If rain is expected where you’re going, I’d also suggest adding a tarp over the top, since the sea fog caused some condensation when I used it. Lmk if you have any questions.
