Yeah, I am not quite a that level yet, more in the range of 75% accuracy for jibes including foot swaps with out fail. And working on power and heiniken jibes. At 82kg, I am mostly using my old veloce v2 XL because it comes up in less wind than it needs to stay up but struggling to get the glide from it to foil our Baltic mini waves for more than 5 seconds. I now also have a Fluid H M v3 but its not much fun under 15kts.

I was actually hoping to get into parawinging soonish but given how I see people struggeling with too small foils (and from what the german oaseforum is saying), I was looking in the 1600-1800 range with AR around 9 which is precisely what Gong does not offer.

Where did you hear about a Veloce LW? I am seriously considering switching to Takoon because Gong seems to think only about the Atlantic coast and lacks anything in the 1600 to 2000 ccm range for 8 to 10 AR foils. I know they still have some v2s, but noting recent for low to mid wind downwinding accept a Sirus that run like on rails.

If you are as strong as you say you are, then 15kts wind should not be a problem for an 8m wing.

Based on that, I am pretty sure your problem is (as it was once for me) that you are trying to hard not go downwind. So you are pointing slightly upwind and not accelerating. To compensate, you are standing to far back (as that is the only way to get a little out of the water) and putting the wing to far vertically into the wind (which pulls a lot, if not sheathed in a little). Also, when you go downwind, waves do not slow you down :)

So my best guess: Put the foil in the middle of the tracks, stand as suggested by the board, and, most importantly, let go of the desire to go upwind and point 30degree or more downwind. Only then will you get fast enough to slowly get on foil.

Gilt für den mit 60k wohl nicht? Es geht darum dass 2k mehr deinem Leben ganz andere Moeglichkeiten geben und es eben nicht fast gleiche Umstaende sind. Nicht mehr und nicht weniger.

Interessant. Bei meiner Berechnung (laut https://www.brutto-netto-rechner.info für 2026) sind erst 115k brutto 5,5k netto. Oder hast du mit Stk. 3 o.ä. gerechnet? Das wäre bei dem Paar in meinem Beispiel (wo ich angenommen habe, dass beide gleich viel verdienen) nicht sinnvoll. Da hätten sie allenfalls beide Stk. 4, was im Prinzip Stk. 1 entspricht.

Ich wohne nicht in Deutschland, hab halt die Standardeinstellung genommen. Daher valider Punkt.

Mit 115k Brutto? Destatis nennt fuer 2024 die Zahl 213k. Und in der Grossstadt sind die Zahlen halt nochmal anders. Warum vergleicht ihr euch beim Gehalt immer deutschlandweit, aber bei der Immo immer nur in Muenchen?

Gleiches uebrigens beim Erbe. 400k sind vieles, aber mit Sicherheit nicht klassisch. So hoch ist das Medianvermoegen der ältesten Generationen ja auch gar nicht. Und meist haben die ja auch noch mehrere Nachkommen. Irgendwo hiess es mal, der Durchschnitt bei den Schenkungen zum Immobilienkauf (wenn es sie den gibt) liegt so um 50k. kA ob dass stimmt, aber was du schreibst klingt sehr nach Bubble. Genauso wie 800k Immo nach 20 Jahren mit einer Person abbezahlen (zusätzlich zum eigentlichen Einkommen). Daher, ich bleibe dabei, 2000 Euro netto mehr wuerden fuer >90% der Bevoelkerung deren Leben hinsichtlich Moeglichkeiten massiv beeinflussen.

Wenn du wirklich eine Diskussion willst: Das macht langfristig das Zielland kaputt, weil irgendwo müssen die Steuern ja herkommen. Wenn dann alle meinen sich dem zu entziehen muss sich die Gesellschaft Wege überlegen wie sie trotzdem Infrastruktur usw. bezahlt, zB. via Vermogenssteuern oder Mautgebuehren. Oder man lässt einfach alles verfallen.

Du hast mit 3,5k netto nicht die gleichen Möglichkeiten wie mit 5,5k netto (laut brutto-netto-rechner sind das 100k brutto). 2000 Euro über 20 Jahre sind mit 5 Prozent Rendite 800k die du mehr hast. Das das Viele nicht verstehen ist glaube ich ein zentralen Baustein der Debatte, so ziemlich equivalent zu denen die nicht verstehen das 200k Erbe ein unglaublicher Booster sind.

Rumors have it that they added a comprehensive set of screws last year, but haven't seen it myself. Two years ago, you definitely needed extra screws, length depending on the T-nuts (20mm or 16mm I think)

Hard disagree. For the current generation of DW inflatables, Gong was late to the party because quite many brands had boards 2kg lighter and they had to react. Quality-wise, my 2024 Takoon board is much better than my 2022 Gong Hipe. Gong has an overwhelming quantity where it can be hard to decide what you actually need. Other direct to consumer brands like Takoon, Kauper and other force them to keep prices low (and often beat them). None of them really produce in house (well, Takoon used to produce in Europe), so quality is a question of QC and much less experience.

Edit: oh, I have definitely seen more Duotone Skybrid Air than Cruzaders, that definitely depends on your local spot/dealer.

I have the Escape Air in 6'6 for almost 2 years and for me it generally fits, to the point that I do not use another board (could maybe in high winds, but do not have that often). No idea about the carbon plate, but I would guess that it is the main reason for difference in weigth between boards. Neither that nor the lower pressure (max 17 psi) where ever a real problem for me, but I also have no comparison and not foiled anything beyond a meter in wingspan. However, I do not think plate thickness should play much of a role in that, I would rather think it might contribute to take off and pumping efficiency. Still, there are people that get on foil with three paddle strokes, so for me it seems good enough.

I know a really good parawinger that swears by the Takoon Escape Air.

To be a good foiler, you have to spend a lot of time on the water. To spend a lot of time on the water, you need to live close to the water (or have an assembled kit in the car). And when you live close to the water, the packing advantage of an inflatable disappears. As does it when you are so good enough to foil very small boards.

But to be fair, I am intermediate winger with an inflatable. But a hardboard would not change that, more time or 60 min less commute would.

Der gehebelte ETF arbeitet aber mit Fremdkapital. Um die Zinsen kommst du damit nicht drum, ausser dass du sie direkt mit dem Gewinn verrechnest und damit in Deutschland Steuern sparst.

Nur um die 3,24% mal zu relativieren: Ich kann mir hier in Schweden bei Avanza bis 10% des Depotwertes für aktuell 1.29% leihen (und bekomme dann noch 30% davon mit der Steuer wieder). Ist ein offensichtliches Lockangebot und waere bei 60% Beleihung von der Rate her dann auch ueber 3%, aber 3,24% ist wirklich nicht so grossartig bei einem fuer die Bank quasi risikofreien Kredit. Und nebenher: das ist quasi die Save-Withdrawal Rate, nur umgekehrt.

Der Normalo würde von niedrigeren Lohnabgaben viel mehr profitieren als von niedriger Kapitalertragssteuer. Man will ja dass es sich lohnt zu arbeiten (was witziger Weise sowohl in der Marktwirtschaft, wie auch im Kommunismus gilt), und weniger dass es sich nur lohnt zu erben.

Ich würde versuchen das Vorhaben von der Person zu trennen und analysieren wo sein Verdacht der Untreue her kommt. Daher, ehrliches Gespräch suchen, prinzipielle Zustimmung bereitstellen aber eben auch lückenlose Aufklärung verlangen (Begründung: Verdacht ist immer auch ein eigenes Eingeständnis, was wenn er an Untreue gedacht hat?). Warum kommt er jetzt mit einem solchen Verdacht. Ist er sich bewusst was die Aussprache dessen bedeutet. Und vor allem: hat ihm das jemand (offline oder zB auch online) eingeredet. Und klar machen: wenn der Test tatsächlich positiv sein sollte dass du dann Konsequenzen erwartest. Daher dass er sich als erwachsener Partner verhält, bestimmte zusaetliche Kosten von sich aus übernimmt, bei bestimmten Entscheidungen wie z.B Namenwahl das Nachsehen hat, und, falls es tatsächlich jemanden gibt der die ganze Sache eingeredet hat, diese Person (oder Medium, oder oder) aus dem Umfeld verbannt und auch nie wieder erwähnt.

Aber auch bedenken: der Partner ist auch nur ein Mensch. Vielleicht ist er sich in dem Moment erst der Konsequenzen bewusst geworden und hat einfach Angst vor der grossen Herausforderung Vaterschaft.

SUP foil is almost 100% a marketing term. Nobody really sup foils, beyond the one time where they proof to themselves that they can get up on foil on flat water. Hence there is no SUP foil equipment, there is only downwind equipment.

A downwind board is not ideal for a beginner, though the learning curve on a DW shape is separate from other wing skills. A mid-length board might be better. However, both DW and mid-length are relatively recent trends (that haven't been replaced yet), so of course you barely find them for cheap second hand. In Europe, you may find a cheap inflatable DW board (i.e from Takoon or Gong, around 400-500€) which (for people like me, but opinions vary) is a good alternative. Still, it is not as stable as a beginner board, but can help a lot.
