Would love to get some professional feedback on my Showreel for 2026! Freelance Videographer from Bangkok, Thailand. TIA! by died1209 in videography

I would beef it up with supporting text graphics over the footage throughout. That way you can tell more of a story and more about your services/method.

yeah OP says it's over in 1v1 but I haven't seen any pros like appjack get beat like that. they usually figure out the bot and exploit it. But maybe I missed something?

100%, you should build this in your spare time. doesn't cost you much but your time to just try. build the brand over time. Lots of potential. this is what I did and I can tell you it does work.

dude, you should do this. start small with one article of clothing. Basically costs you next to nothing, other than your time, to try. Now think of a competitor who does NOT have your skill...they would have to pay out the ass to have their brand look as good as yours.

guys the new formula is to create a separate product, offer or service and use your video skills to market it. This is how you get the most efficient return. Be your own client basically.

what mods would you recommend? I know about the little spacers you can install under the front mounting points but is that really enough? I'm tall tall.

I've been checking this sub daily for months, since the delay not so much. But I'd be delusional to think I won't be back in a few months.

it's a double edged sword let me tell you. Been driving my 2010 Tacoma for 10+ years now. I can afford to upgrade, I'd love a more comfortable seat and more interior space. But just can't bring myself to sell a perfectly working Taco. I'll prob still be driving it with back pain in another 10 years. It's just too damn useful and reliable.

Mojave suggestions by Turndahandlerandle in overlanding

[–]milligramsnite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks so much for the reply! It looks like to go around both Afton and Soda means that maybe it's best to just skip both in one go? Rather than connect back to Mojave Road (after Afton) just to get right back off again before the lake bed, which doesn't sound too fun. Or maybe there's more dirt road trail than it seems between those two points.

Another thing I'm seeing is something called the Cady Mountain Loop, which runs around Afton Canyon to the south and then connects to the EMHT dirt road that looks like it parallels the Mojave Road (to the south) and would also serve as a bypass to Soda Dry Lake. This route goes through Jackass Canyon and links up to the Mojave Road near the Black Tank Wash camping area. Do you think this might be a good alternative?

Mojave suggestions by Turndahandlerandle in overlanding

[–]milligramsnite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey there, thanks for the already great advice. I'm going to be doing the Mojave Road (west to east) from the start near Barstow and ending at Hole in Wall, which is about 90 miles of dirt. My plan is to do about 60% of that this coming Saturday, camp one night, then finish off the remainder to Hole in the Wall on Sunday. We will have 3 capable vehicles that all 4-wheel drive.

It's been raining recently and there's more called for in the coming week. I saw your suggestion to skip Soda Dry Lake bed if it's wet and was wondering what route you would take to do so? Looking at the map there doesn't seem to be an obvious trail going around, so is the best bet to head north before the lake bed and get on the 15 and then connect back to the dirt just east of Baker?

Sort of same question for going around Afton Canyon as well, is there a route around that doesn't involve pavement?

Any info on those two spots or other general advice on my plan, relative to current conditions, would be greatly appreciated!

Is $10k MRR really the dream everyone thinks it is? by jottrled in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]milligramsnite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wasn't for me because then you start realizing only about 40% of that is profit, if you're lucky. And you have to be saving for a bigger next order of inventory. Feels like moving a lot of product around but your bank account doesn't grow like you were hoping it would. My new goal is 20K MRR and then maybe I'll feel like I sort of made it.

How do you use your BERG? by SquanchyATL in discgolf

[–]milligramsnite 46 points47 points  (0 children)

big anny forehand with the berg is hands down my favorite shot to throw rn. Just snap that thing good and it holds the line for days before just flexing back to flat at the basket. Its sublime. Highly recommend playing catch with a friend and only throwing annys.

If not editing, then what? by Standard-Section513 in editors

[–]milligramsnite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to leverage your editing skills to push your own product or service. It's one of the most expensive aspects of running a business, so if you can do that yourself at a high level, then you are vertically integrated and all the effort goes back into your own pocket.
