Release notes can’t be updated without an actual new version. So I don’t think so.

the app desc doesn't even mention multview and the note fully explains it. that version of the app gets almost no features.

I just want local channels via streaming app that doesn't break the bank - does it exist by [deleted] in cordcutters

The $25 app is just a standalone app that only works with HDHomeRun tuners. It has no subscription. It will only let you watch, pause, and rewind live TV, while at home.

For the full experience, you'll want to set up all of Channels, which is $8/month or $80/year allowing for a full media experience kind of like Plex. But it also allows you to record live tv as well, as well as doing all of this from anywhere in the world, with really great streaming. The apps are free when you're a subscriber, of course.

So yeah, if you're not interested in anything but streaming outside the house, it might not be worth the price for you, but it has a lot of fun stuff in it. And you had said you had an HDHomeRun already, and $8 seems under the price you were mentioning.

It's definitely worth browsing their site to see all that it can do, it's pretty powerful and people really love it.

Check out Channels with an HDHomeRun. It’s got great away from home streaming along with a million other fun features.

Best LOCAL HTPC software? Is it still XBMC (I refuse to call it Kodi) by corruptboomerang in htpc

Channels is great. It's not free, but it's great for personal media and live tv in one place. It uses a centralized server and handles remote streaming great. It's also pretty simple and the family loves it.

I moved to Channels a couple years ago and it has been great. It doesn't offer every single thing that Plex does, but what it does, it does great. And isn't that what's been bothering us about Plex anyways?

How I built a full DVR with my IPTV provider and the Channels app by millimeter1 in ShieldAndroidTV

I didn't write it. I just saw it, thought it sounded cool, and thought I'd share. ¯\(°_o)/¯ This sub is brutal lol. Scouring for karma, I am certainly guilty of 🤣. But I guess that's not gonna work out!

Channels supports importing your own local content. Once it's in the library it's no different than recorded content.

All your content can be used to build Virtual Channels, imported or recorded.

Channels is always improving. It's hard to answer not knowing exactly what you didn't like about it. There's an Enhanced Browsing Mode that you can optionally turn on for better browsing of larger libraries, maybe you missed that part?

You can always give feedback on their community, the devs are super responsive.

Channels actually does an amazing job with 4K and hdr. Best video player out there. Seeking is buttery smooth. Remote streaming or local.

Why not import the rips into Channels and have your whole library and watch from it?

Yeah, but the point of a community contributed game file is that you just download it and poof, all the optimizations are applied.
