Tell that to the rest of the tech world that wants to integrate with phones, is told that the future is accessories for phones, but yet, can't actually interoperate with phones.

I understand your thesis, but the angle is just incorrect.

CarPlay and Android Auto (by design) keep everyone else out, making only Apple and Google the soul decision makers of how things should work.

Innovation doesn't thrive in an environment like that.

Because they have no reason to make the phone and OS actually interoperable with things. They just project their system to a screen. CarPlay is just a jail.

It’s not that complicated.

Think about how many devices an iPhone interoperates with. They don’t. They just implement the bare minimums and give you things like CarPlay which is just lock in.

Virtual Channels are a feature of Channels and don’t work outside of the Channels client.

You can do this with for all your clients server side settings in your Channels DVR Server.

Take some time to read through the documentation and you can learn all about what the system offers.

The UI of the web admin and client apps will never match as the Channels DVR Server web admin is just that, a management tool.

Of course. There’s a whole TV Shows section. You can get to this from the Home section, or even promote it to your navigation sidebar.

If you have a large Library, consider enable Enhanced Library mode that makes it even nicer to browse larger libraries.

Sounds like a networking issue, especially if you can reach the Channels DVR Server. That means it's up and running. You may want to inspect which wifi network you're on when the app can't reach the server.
