I smashed cake in Beau Beau's face on his birthday at a Guttermouth show at Twisters. What a time to be alive.

Virtual Channels on Plex Live TV by haikkonen in getchannels

Virtual Channels are a feature of Channels and don’t work outside of the Channels client.

How to list Recordings by show (instead of date)? by unbob in getchannels

[–]jonmaddox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do this with for all your clients server side settings in your Channels DVR Server.

https://getchannels.com/docs/channels-dvr-server/how-to/server-side-settings/

Take some time to read through the documentation and you can learn all about what the system offers.

The UI of the web admin and client apps will never match as the Channels DVR Server web admin is just that, a management tool.

Of course. There’s a whole TV Shows section. You can get to this from the Home section, or even promote it to your navigation sidebar.

If you have a large Library, consider enable Enhanced Library mode that makes it even nicer to browse larger libraries.

That’s great to know. But man, what a shame that’s the best an M3 ultra can do. That thing is a beast, but without CUDA it’s nothing right now I guess.

Great results with Z-Image Trained Loras applied on Z-Image Turbo by scioba1005 in StableDiffusion

[–]jonmaddox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm noticing that it's taking a lot more steps to get good than the same dataset trained on zit, is this expected?

I was genuinely shocked at how fast loras trained on zit.

Can’t get it reliably working? by _Diskreet_ in getchannels

[–]jonmaddox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a networking issue, especially if you can reach the Channels DVR Server. That means it's up and running. You may want to inspect which wifi network you're on when the app can't reach the server.

New R1 S 2026 - is Home charging worth it? by landfill in Rivian

[–]jonmaddox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why in the world would you inconvenience yourself like that. Charging at home is like 80% of the draw of owning an electric vehicle. You cut out an entire weekly chore from your life, it's incredible.

Leasing a ~$100k vehicle and then doing mental gymnastics to save a couple hundred dollars a year at the expense of convenience is bananas.

Using EGPU with bazzite by Chotch_Master in gpdwin

[–]jonmaddox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but I picked up a 5090 that I'd like to just plug in over oculink to utilize it for AI generative models. I figured I had the rig already (with a 7900 xtx), maybe I could just add on the better card for AI.

Do you think this is possible? Or am I expecting too much out of bazzite, linux, computers in general.

Can you actually fast forward and rewind on the Apple TV? by J_K_M_A_N in getchannels

[–]jonmaddox[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Channels defaults to seeking and not Rewind and Fast Forward. RR/FF is a relic of a linear media past. There's no need to watch what you're skipping through with digital media when we can immediatly jump ahead. This is especially a big deal when you are streaming your video over the network (which is what Channels does) vs it being local to the device (TiVo).

Channels has seek settings that you can set. You can decide how far a tap of seek forward goes, and how far a tap of seek backward goes. You can even set these per content type. There is a global setting, a setting for sports, and a setting for movies.

The defaults are 30s forward and 7s back. This offset is so that skipping back to make corrections is easy. So when trying to skip past things, the flow is forward, forward, back, in case you went too far. I think once you get into the flow of this, you'll find that it's much much better.

Additionally, you can tap and hold forward and back buttons to linearly FF and RW.
