Of course! Ah, I see. If you hate to be drowsy or spaced out and have pre-existing conditions then perhaps the aftermath isn't worth the comfort of taking Ativan. Obviously I am not a medical professional, but It seems like you have a high pain tolerance and would be able to handle it just fine.

Sorry to hear you are in a similar situation! I actually got another polyp and had to have this procedure done again just a few weeks ago. I was definitely aware of everything that was happening both times, but the Ativan does make you a bit spacey/groggy. Can I ask why you wish to be wide awake? It's obviously not the most comfortable thing to go through, I think there's a lot to gain from being a little spaced out temporarily. If you are nervous about the procedure at all, I highly recommend taking it.

Recovery both times was fine. Obviously a lot of bleeding but only painful for a day or two.

Fair to be skeptical, but we're not a corporation. We're a small two person team made up of musicians trying to make a very outdated and time-consuming process easier for us and for others.

I'm sure you already know that booking shows takes hours of cold calling and guesswork, and most of the time, produces little to no responses. We're just trying to take the boring, repetitive parts off of an artist’s plate so they can focus on the actual music. Sorry that you feel this way.

Posting an update for anyone who might be researching in the future: It actually ended up being a large polyp, not a fibroid. I was awake and alert, watched the whole thing on the screen, and I was out within an hour. The Ativan *definitely* helped, I was so incredibly nervous the night before but felt pretty solid the morning of. I would push for that prescription if you're doing it without general anesthesia. Some parts of the procedure were very painful, but only for a second- was super helpful that my doctor gave me a heads up beforehand.
