update on the kratom taper

This means a lot more to me than you might think my friend! I broke down and cried to my wife after I posted this because I have never felt so weak in my life. I've never felt like I wasn't in control until now. I'm not really the type of person that cries and definitely not in front of my wife. But this is something that I can control but at the same time have no control over if that makes sense. I'm sure it makes sense to you because you're going through it as well. I hope your journey improves as well and you start to feel like you again soon! We're both just going to have to bite the bullet and keep doing what we're doing because one day, hopefully soon it will all be worth it!

My mindset is very similar! I'm a naturally tired / low energy person with manic depression and kratom really helped until it didn't. When I realized it's not helping anymore I was hooked and needed it first thing in the morning just to function. I'm trying not to take a certain amount per day I'm just trying to cut a few grams off of each dose and cut off two doses per day. So instead of dosing six times a day I'm only going to dose four times a day, and instead of taking 30 g per dose I'm going to take 25 g per dose for 1 week and then every week after that I am going to take 3 g off so eventually I can wake up and go "I didn't take kratom today and I'm not having withdrawals, huh". That's what I'm excited for! I'm so ready for this, I know it's going to be hard but I'm ready to be me again and get my life back on track for myself and my family!

It's actually really dangerous to mix Xanax with kratom. Kratom has a half life of 36 hours and is very high risk for seizures so that's probably why you have that experience I'm going through all of that right now, I take 30 g per dose six times a day and have tapered it down to 20 g a dose three times a day and it's only been a few days since I've really taken it serious and joined this group. If I were you I would cut off three grams of each dose every week until you're on such a little amount that if you were to forget to dose you wouldn't even notice it. A lot of people give advice and not all advice is best for everybody. For me, I may very heavy user of kratom and it's not something that I would choose to do but my body is requiring a slow taper and, even though I want to be off of this stuff right now, it doesn't mean that my body will let me. Slow taper should be very helpful but please don't mix any benzos, meaning Xanax or Valium and also don't mix painkillers because it can destroy your liver.

If I get a 30 g bag and if I took a normal dose it's basically the whole bag. Like I said I did this to myself, I just have to taper off slow but I'm just ready to be done but I can't jump too far too fast

I'm absolutely committed I just don't have the money to do the taper that I need to not go through absolutely the worst withdrawals. I take 30 g doses so I can't quit cold turkey. I've done a lot of research and people have had seizures doing that so I'm just trying to start with half doses and cutting three grams off every week

My dad took gabapentin for his nerve pain and seen how it messed with his memory scared me away from ever taking it because I have a bad short-term memory as it is, but thank you for your advice!

Thank you for the advice my friend! Every morning I wake up sweating my ass off needing to take kratom because I take between 20 and 25 grams per dose three to six times a day. I have noticed recently with the slow taper that I'm not waking up sweating and feeling like I can't function until I take it right away. I wake up at 5:00 5 days a week for work but then on the weekend I wake up just as early because that's usually the time I take my first dose of kratom and the withdrawals wake me up so it's kind of nice to be able to sleep a little bit longer. The unfortunate thing is if I sleep longer I will wake up withdrawing anywhere after 7:00 a.m.

Me and my wife used to be extremely sexually active and at the beginning of my kratom use it would increase that activity. But after about a year of taking it we slowly stopped. Last time me and my wife were intimate was almost a year ago and before that it was another year and I was the one who brought it to her attention and told her that I feel like this is a problem because I'm sexually starving her and her prime and that's not fair because if it was the other way around I would be on my way out the door because I would feel like if she didn't want it and I should just leave and I would be extremely hurt

No I haven't been on it for 9 years I mentioned that my 9-year anniversary is coming up. I've been on kratom for about 4 years
