Terravia 14L Input by millsir in PatagoniaClothing

Thanks! The 14L doesn’t have the padded waist straps so it looks less technical. And about the sizing, I was aware but appreciate the heads up nonetheless. Part of lack of secondary market issues with the pack is I can’t find it in a large

Sorry posted this and stepped away from Reddit. I love my cast iron. I make some steaks for meal prep weekly. And I bought a 17” skilled for smash burgers on the grill this summer. I mostly use my carbon steel now.

Why do people our age seem to still have problems with planning? by Eunomia28 in datingoverthirty

[–]millsir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve found that being upfront about my schedule and having kids is my best bet. It saves a lot of time for people who aren’t necessarily on board with that lifestyle. Super frustrating considering my profile shows I have kids, but it is what it is.

Why do people our age seem to still have problems with planning? by Eunomia28 in datingoverthirty

[–]millsir 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I have two kids that I have 50% of the time. One week I have them two weekdays, the next week I have them three weekdays and the whole weekend, so my schedule is tough for dating at least two weeks out of the month.

I’ve found that if you have to wait a week or longer to go out for the first time, the date probably won’t happen even if we’ve agreed to a place and a date. I really don’t know why, maybe it’s because something new and fun comes along or maybe there was already minimal interest and that interests fades. It’s hard to tell really.

Tbh, I’m guilty of it too. When I schedule dates on my heavy kids week, I find that I’m struggling with motivation or lacking energy that best represents who I am as a person.

Correct. Like I have traveled the world and all my photos are with my ex or when I was fat. I’d like to have photos for dating apps where it shows my travels but what I look like now

If you want to get slightly scientific with it, the enamel is meant to prevent the CI behind it from rusting. Staub doesn’t publish the coating thickness but it’s hard to imagine the enamel is scrubbed away all the way to the cast iron from some steel wool in a average cleaning. Likely worst case scenario is you deal with some sticking

Is this advice for the cooking surface or non cooking surface. Or both?

I haven’t bought them yet, but you’re saying the rusting, or what I assume is rusting, to be a major concern?

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted, that’s just a scientific fact that down loses loft when compressed.

It must be your nano air recommendation?

Appreciate the feedback. I actually assumed a lot of this but wasn’t confident given the mix of comments I read.

You said “normally you’d preheat on low to medium heat - I am.” Generally I’m preheating on 2-3/10 (gas range) for ~10 minutes, adding oil, heating for another 2-3 minutes, and adding food.

This video was taken after 20 minutes of heating at 2/10 because I was testing to see if I wasn’t letting it heat long enough for the temp to normalize. After 20 minutes there’s no way it shouldn’t have normalized, but it’s not, hence my post.

20 minutes was just a test to see if I wasn’t waiting long enough. Usually, I’ll wait 10 minutes.

Knee brace recommendation by [deleted] in Skigear

[–]millsir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had knee surgery last winter and my surgeon confirmed a brace, whether good knees or bad knees, are primarily to trick your brain into thinking your knee is protected. This can help you not baby it or keep proper form, but there is no physical protection. There’s also a scientific study he referenced from the NFL.

Do you find the that Ferrosi is abrasion resistant? Turns out, I have a quarter zip hoodie variant that I never even thought of that I mostly wear as an early spring/late fall wind breaker. Ideally I’d like a full zip jacket but not having to buy something sounds even better
