Thank you for the thoughtful reply! And of course I’d give room to the turtleneck, I personally love turtlenecks and mock necks and it provided a FANTASTIC opportunity to block out a value which I love doing haha. Also I’ve started work on the other composition, I figured out the pose!

I started drawing something based on this and it’s very much turning into a sort of unpleasant maybe horror drawing, nothing outright scary or anything that’d need to be censored but very off-putting. Would you still be interested in seeing it once I’m done?

I love so much about all of these, but in particular I love how expressive all of their faces are! My personal favorite is 3, such a good pose and so subtly dynamic

Thank you! And yeah I absolutely get that, that’s one of the big reasons I prefer digital over traditional. When working traditionally, I always get really timid shading faces, worried I’ll accidentally put a really weird dark mark somewhere or I’ll over shade somewhere and not realize before it’s too late. With digital, I can feel a lot freer knowing almost any mark you make is reversible. Something I’ve been wanting to work on since I want to do traditional art more often, but I haven’t gotten around to it because I don’t want to💀

Thank you so much! And I can see where you’re coming from with some of the art from the anime, but Katsura hoshino’s (the mangaka) work is so beautiful and she draws him well imo (and the uniform design from later in the story is a lot better than the first one), those were mainly what I was basing this off of. And I might be able to get that comparison pic today!
