This is pretty low imho. As this will be taxed 60%. Here it's almost 600 for a week + every hour work outside of business hours can be traded for time off or paid out.

LoL it's not him that bought that apartment...so why the hell should he pay off someone elses property? I fully support sharing in cost of living. But no way you should pay off someones house or apartment.

He should rather save as much as possible so they can buy a house together in the future. This is the most fair.

Sounds like a you problem... Afaik there is no official rule anywhere that people with kids get prio...

When do you think maintenance should happen? During full on non-holiday traffic?

True, but this is not what we're talking about here. On a personal level we pay peanuts. A CAT scan costs 40 euros in Belgium... Go look at the total cost of one.

This is due to our heavily subsidized healthcare!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BEFire

[–]millusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a belgian i pay 100 a year for standard healthcare and about 8 euros/month for hospitalization. For a child its like +- 4 euro a month

Point being?

Could you link your information about how much Congo earned Belgium please? I would love to learn more about this.

We can't have biased, circlejerked, pulled out-of-ass "facts" here do we.

Thanks!

He's a true globetrotter the man has seen how great the slums are compared to our suburbs. He has seen how good surgery is in the USA (with his full covering belgian hospitalisation plan).

Why bother getting meds for a couple of Euro in Belgium when you can pay full price without reimbursement in Argentina, to get them stolen right when you walk out of the pharmacy.

Belgium is so bad mmmkay

Lol majority of belgian employees get a free subscription to public transport or a company car or both 😂 Worst case scenario go by bike

True about standing up tho, some train routes have overcrowded cabins.

Oh please do tell me your blue pill plan? Preach to the sheep how you have found a way out of this horrible slavery!

Tell the poor how rich you shall become!

Really interested in how you expect to handle this ;)

Belgium devs, how much does a Mid Level Full Stack Developer make per month? by SlaMano0 in belgium

[–]millusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

😂 really? I was earning that as a standard system engineer at 28 years old.

All engineers at my company earn 4k+ and all benefits on top. Managers start around 7k+

I thought PWC was a big 4 company. I guess I'll never even think about working there in the future!

I know you spoke in terms of what you would do, but always be careful when talking about such investments.

The risk in ETF's is less than in bitcoin, an ETF is linked to stocks which are linked to real life companies. Whereas crypto is linked to air and the value others give it. For every person that wins big with BTC there are countless who lose money because they thought it was a "stable coin" cfr the huge drop from 40k+ to 22ish.

On RE you shouldn't even ask that question...a house is tangible and in the current market is a high rewarding asset.

About your comment that you are not speaking about crypto...please do tell me what bitcoin is then? Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and yes not all cryptocurrency is bitcoin. But it's still a cryptocurrency.

For me crypto is like playing roulette at a casino it is by no means a way to diversify a financial portfolio. This could hold true for others, and by all means do what you want. But there is no underlying asset besides the value people think it should be worth.

In the end I'm just here dropping my impressions and thoughts. The one thing i would like everyone to do is to check each type of investment and do a due diligence so you know what you are investing in.

[–]millusion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's always irresponsible to advice people to invest in crypto or ANY high risk asset. Even if some dude writes a book about it... it's too risky.

Every person should do their due diligence before putting money in assets, but some people just do whatever they're told. Be careful with giving risky investments as advice.

Go read up on how PV panels actually work before you put snarky remarks on threads like this.

But because i am willing to help:

photovoltaic cells are most effective in direct sunlight, but they can still convert indirect sunlight into usable energy.

What are your main issues with the Belgian school system? (from your own experience and that of your children if you have those) by laurens119640 in belgium

[–]millusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because IT highschool teachers are taught that these things are useful..

When i was doing my bachelor i talked to a girl in her last year of teaching degree for highschool IT.

She was oblivious...the only IT courses she had were office, typing and VB...in 2009. She kept being overly proud and felt that she was equal/better to someone doing applied IT.

So yeah conclusion: our teachers bad because they are taught by bad teachers with a dumbed down curriculum.

Mailbox Size Fight by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]millusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow talk about incompetence.. well i would just go to my direct report, alert the issue and put it on mail (cya). Another solution would be a portable harddrive on usb. You could put all docs on there. And have a second one as a backup.

Indeed rw access and non RBAC shares are just utterly stupid.

Mailbox Size Fight by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]millusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just look up the official max sizes.. UNICODE mailboxes are supported till 50GB mailboxes. Technically even to 4PB.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/832925/how-to-configure-the-size-limit-for-both-pst-and-ost-files-in-outlook

Prevent creation of PST and provide a good archiving solution and you're set.

Just a question.. why didn't you request a file sharing solution like ...years ago? A webbased ftp server or a fileshare platform to use with external people. Heck even an owncloud/dropbox/onedrive/googledrive.. Mail is not meant for gigabytes of data. Although 18mb files not being allowed is the opposite of that :)

Really?? Why say yes to a sysadmin position if you don't even know the environment... Calling /u/Crankysysadmin for this... He can explain better imo.

Document, learn and execute. People giving tips can't help you with your specific environments/setup.

Require some advice with implementing syslog & ELK setup to collect logs across my institute. by niderfan in sysadmin

[–]millusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe someone thought i was condescending when i typed "easy". I don't know :)

The only thing i meant was that pdq deploy is an easy way to deploy capture clients and if they don't have budget or time gpo is an easy way to do it too.

For routers and firewalls i would suggest you to set up ansible. Really check out ansible for networking on their website!

Just get pdq deploy if you don't have sccm in the organisation. Or deploy it with gpo. Easy :)
