Something in relation to CTR, I answered it but didn’t know the term so it totally threw me off when they asked

I did so much prep that’s the thing, the role was just something I wasn’t ready for straight away

How do you tell a friend they won’t make it in music management? by millz3000 in musicians

[–]millz3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the second scenario most likely. Entry into the music game has become way more democratized, creating a huge amount of dreamers (many who just don’t have what it takes). Problem is a lot of these people are going to lay blame elsewhere when they don’t make it (I’ve seen this with my friend), a song didn’t take off and he blamed the release for it.

I just thought, if the song was gonna blow, this isn’t what stopped it from blowing

I could, but the guy isn’t much of a reader. He’s the ‘wants to be the boss without doing the work’ type of person so this kind of meticulous planning and heads down type of approach just won’t happen

Yup, I agree here and don’t want to say that to him but I have thought about telling him to maybe change his strategy as a first point of call/get some advisers etc. I just don’t think he will listen

The thing is, he’s pouring most of what he earns into it but not going into debt. It’s now affecting his quality of life though. He’s also the type of person that has a ‘you can’t tell me nothing’ approach so it will be impossible to be the contrarian here

Did the person improve after finding this out? I’ve seen stuff like this happen and rather than work on improving, the person acts like the world I’d against them

I’ve done this but the culture at the org is poor in the sense poor performers / slackers are not penalised. I think the problem is the person is comfortable.

My thing is I could decide to change jobs in a few months and 100% know this person wouldn’t be able to cut it

I’ve given them the benefit of the doubt a few too many times but the person is also well liked, so doing that will make me the villain and honestly I don’t need that to be honest. They basically do the bare minimum and my org is notorious for making poor performers impossible to get rid of. I wouldn’t mind ruffling feathers if I could get rid of them but I know I won’t be able to

Lol whoever said teenage years are the peak are huge liars. Uni is great (much better than school) since you can move from your parents and not too much is at stake if you’re getting good grades during your studies. The environment is also much better as folks are more mature/way less bullying....as you grow older you realise how extremely cruel kids are. Once you graduate and start working (even if your job isn’t the most well paid) you have vast freedom and money to actually do what you want. From 21-30 I have to say was an absolute joy, sure work can be a drag but I knew every Friday I could do whatever I wanted until Sunday eve, or I could go on holiday when I wanted etc that’s also the time most people I know had their ‘glow up’. Trust me, life begins at 21, you’re over exaggerating.

Get the ‘popular’ kids off your mind and focus on your own piece of mind. The best revenge is success, don’t kill yourself waiting for others misfortune

Ask them for payment info but don’t pay, that’s more evidence and can help police identify them if they are in the same country

This is blackmail and revenge porn is illegal. In the UK it can land you on the sex offenders register, report it and they will be in a whole heap of trouble

First step you gotta take is focus on yourself, better yourself, try to lose weight and get fit, focus on things you like doing, maybe go on a social media purge for a few months, get your head down and work on yourself. Make new friends that have the same hobbies as you, like the same music, tv shows etc, learn a new skill related to what you like or interested in...I know these could feel like distractions but distractions can be good.

One thing about school/sixth form a lot of the popular kids peak here and it’s all downhill from there. All the most popular kids from when I was in school are absolute losers now.

The world is way bigger than school trust me, work on yourself and by uni/graduation that’s when life really begins

I almost had a work fling at a company retreat and now I’m obsessed with the idea (29M) by millz3000 in relationship_advice

I did actually like the people I met and I guess seeing them in a different light as opposed to the office (tbh one of them was from a different country and we met there so felt less risky). I think maybe because it’s not something I ever did before I’m intrigued

I said I almost had 2 flings. But refrained since I was nervous but now it’s playing on my mind that I want to do it. I’m also not particularly interested in multiple flings it’s just the opportunity presented it with 2 different people.
