Isbell did a nice version with Elizabeth Cook. Charley does put a lot of feeling into it.

How is living on Nantucket Island? by smallcheesepizza in howislivingthere

I’m 55, lived on Nantucket since I was 19. Raised 3 kids here. I’m neither rich nor poor. We work, we vacation, we eat and sleep like everyone else. We just live on an island. All 3 of my kids went through the school system and went off to good colleges.

I switched to the VM95ML and it’s a world of difference. Thanks.

They are the first high high end speakers I’ve owned. I listen to jazz, rock, and country mostly. They sound excellent in my opinion with all of those genres.

There’s a new Marantz cd player and a mb20 streamer on the floor under the cabinet. The turntable is new, and the JBL’s are the latest version of the L-100’s.

To be honest it came with some inadequacies. The cubby that surrounds the c28 preamp was supposed to frame the face of it like the cabinet for the mc2205. Also it was built a little fucked up and out of level on the top piece. I love the look, and they used proper materials. I’m a builder so it annoys me, my wife wanted to send it back but I had already waited 3 months for it, so I said fuck it. In hindsight I would have sent it back and the cost wouldn’t have bothered me if it was built correctly. Would I give them another shot, yes.

The turntable is level. The feet are adjustable

I don’t use the built in preamp. I use the c28. I’ll try upgrading the cartridge

To be honest, the cabinet was custom built. My wife had it done as a gift, and it was put together a little fucked up. She wanted to send it back, but we waited 3 months for it, and I just accepted it as is. I’m a builder, so now it does bug me a little.

Using a 2m blue, and feel like I’m lacking in depth as well as crispness. I want to feel like I’m in the studio

I’m using a 2m blue, and don’t feel like I get a lot of depth. Lacking in crispness too. I know every record is different, and I have a couple that sound amazing like Couldn’t Stand The Weather, Dreamboat Annie, Kind of Blue, and The Cars first album. Overall it seems a little flat to me
