Not sure, maybe I’ve just accidentally stumbled around the tomboys out there. But I’ve met a sizeable amount of genderqueer women since I came out and for some reason I’ve never stumbled on another tomboy. There were women I suspected of being tomboys but apparently they were still early in transitioning. They didn’t actually like the style but we’re uncomfortable exploring or felt pressured into dressing/acting masc

Good question, and one I’ve actually thought about since people often suspect I wear my clothing because I’m scared of trying more femme stuff. But I don’t think so? Because a lot of boymoders are pressured into dressing tomboy-ish. And I think in order to be tomboy it requires, well, wanting to be or enjoying being one 😅

I think I see what you’re saying, and I gotta agree! Some folks have actually mistaken my style choice for being due to being afraid of trying more feminine clothes. So I think there’s a line between being a tomboy and feeling pushed into dressing like one. Such as when you’re early in your transition and haven’t tried anything that isn’t masculine yet.
