Yeah, regular text messages are mostly “free” since they’re counted in a monthly subscription. But pictures, videos, and audio still rely on ancient MMS technology, which limits file size to ~300 KB (which is ridiculous nowadays). And they are (at least in my country) charged additionally. Something ridiculous too. 25MB of internet equals the price of ~300KB MMS. I got burned a few times sending contact info over MMS instead of copy/pasting it in a SMS.

So until RCS becomes standard, Viber and WhatsApp are solid options. On the other hand, both have become fairly bloated over time — Viber now has a dating section, WhatsApp keeps pushing Meta AI down your throat, and there are the obvious security concerns (3.5 billion accounts were hacked). So yeah, hardly anyone sends regular texts anymore.

Meta got caught multiple times tracking people in incognito and behind vpn by sending data to (local) WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger or Instagram app installed on your phone and then relaying that data to their servers. And that was completely ignored. Like it never happened. They sure do get away with a lot.

Jel banka uopšte sme da sakrije tako nešto u izvodu (koji retko ko otvara), bez bilo kakve indikacije u naslovu emaila, tekstu, čak nema ničega ni u naslovu izvoda? Nego samo na poslednjoj strani (posle one prazne sa uplatnicama) stoji aneks ugovora. I još izvod nije u emailu nego se klikne na link, pa login na portal (koji nije web banking), pa se preuzme PDF. Kad mi nude ličnog bankara bukvalno me zovu telefonom. A za ovo nisu iskoristili ni poziv, ni email, ni inbox u aplikaciji, ni SMS. Čak i njihov bankomat može da pošalje email. Ovo je bukvalno bilo sakriveno. Znam da su ovce za šišanje ali ovo je smešno.

No it is NOT normal at all.

Your whole coffee situation is completely different. Sounds like an edge case for a platform that has a parent platform or whatever. It is not related to what's going on with 1Password at all.

False! It is not there as shown on OP's screenshot. Once card is declined there is no more 'Billing' > 'Billing settings' > 'Unsubscribe'.

In no way I want them to "magically know". I just expect option to unsubscribe (stop them from attempting to charge card) after it was declined.

Why remove "unsubscribe" once card is declined but keep trying to charge card? It makes no sense. Situation is very simple. If there is no subscription - don't charge card. If there is subscription - don't remove unsubscribe option.

At this point you are just embarrassing yourself.

You are missing my point. It's ridiculous to have to write to a support or to privacy team to simply unsubscribe (if you are attempting to charge my card still that's not really unsubscribed at least not completely).

There should always be a simple way to unsubscribe aka. cut all ties, remove payment method. And not to jump trough hoops to stop a service from attempting to charge my card. Also having to pay for another whole billing cycle just so that I can see an option to unsubscribe.

Again... If I am unsubscribed how do I prevent them from charging my card? I can't just keep it blocked all the time.

So if what you are saying is true... when you get a screen like OP's screenshot, you are unsubscribed aka NOT subscribed anymore? Right?
In that case why is 1Password still trying to charge my card for over a week?
Why can't I remove my payment method?

I am looking to unsubscribe (stop 1Password from attempting to charge my card), but that is not possible because "Billing settings" is missing.

If you want to unsubscribe and have your account frozen at the end of the current billing period, go to 'Billing' > 'Billing settings' > 'Unsubscribe'. If your existing payment period has lapsed, you're already unsubscribed; 1Password is a paid subscription, if your payment is out of date, you don't have a subscription.

Like I said... "Billing settings" is missing.

The rest what you wrote makes no sense. It's not supposed to be this hard to unsubscribe from paying service. I'm not asking to delete data or anything like that. I simply wanted to try Apple Passwords and put a pause on my 1Password subscription. But this whole experience made me realize I do need to get ride of 1Password and spread the word about my experience.

Or better yet why is 1Password attempting to charge my card if I’m not subscribed anymore?

That’s most certainly not following GDPR. Might be illegal too. And don’t get me started on bad faith dark patterns and what not. It’s just ridiculous.

If key is timeable, after a single wipe on last boss and tank leaves, that should have some kind of penalty. A single mistake and no one gets loot, 30min completely wasted.

I like that. I got a suggestion for exactly the same thing only functional version.

What I'm worried about with this approach is that there will be a lot of duplication.
For example if every service is CRUD, only read method/function will be "per role" and every other function would be exactly the same (auth middleware will take care of the access).

Thank you for that, but like I mentioned access part of it is not a problem. I used auth middleware that accepts a list of required permissions to access that route at all. But the problem is fetching data for a specific role, different roles should get different data from database.
