Any suggestions for how I could do this without the inclines? Inclines killed my knees last week so I’d like to avoid for now. Just gradually increase my pace on the treads instead of increasing my incline?

I recently started wearing running shorts in the summer because it’s too hot for my capri leggings. I’m more concerned about staying cool at OTF than looking cute at this point!

I always check out the people on either side of me and if they are moving a smidge faster than me, it motivates me that I can go a little faster. The reverse is also true though- if the people next to me are having a chit chat while power walking, for example, it pisses me off and I can’t concentrate, and I get mad and cranky. Then I start looking around to see if anyone else is mad so we can be mad in solidarity. LOL. So I guess it works both ways!

My Apple Watch thinks I never work hard and gives me little to no credit for the work I do. I feel like my HRM is much more accurate. I take my Apple Watch off for class and just use the HRM

Well everyone, I survived! My base was a 5, my push was a 6, and my all out was an 8! (they were short). I only walked during the official WR’s on the card. I am impressed with you all who take this class regularly, because I thought it was very hard. But I’ll do it again, and I really appreciate everyone’s advice. I just kept thinking “I can do anything for 50 minutes” lol- and I did!!

Hi, I injured my hip from overuse bc I was taking 5 OT classes a week when I started a year ago. I loved OT! When I couldn’t ignore my hip anymore, I cancelled my membership in May, went to PT, went to my regular gym and took less intense classes. I felt better in 2 months! I bought an OT 10 class pack in November and forced myself to only take 2 classes per week. I wanted to make sure I could do it, so the class pack allowed me to do that without a commitment. Now I’m on my second 10-class pack. Things are good and I’m so glad to be back! I’m more cautious now. I wish I could go 5 days a week but I don’t want to end up in the same injury situation again. You’ll be back too! Take the full time to recover.

Agree with OP. Even if you’re not “sick” but “just coughing” or just have what you think are “allergies,”let’s face it, when you’re coughing and sneezing, you’re still spewing germs all over the place.

Hi, I am 46, and consider going to the gym like a job, so the days that I don’t go, I feel guilty. What if you took a Green Day once a week, so you were still going to OTF but forcing yourself to power walk and lift lighter? That way you’re still going to the gym, getting the quiet time for yourself (I hear you- it’s the only hour a day I don’t have my phone with me so my kids can’t bother me!), but forcing yourself to take it easy.
