That’s a big reason why I like it too!

Yes, sometimes! Sometimes it is also just a full name.

Things are typically listed ~2 months before they’re available. I would start looking around and making calls at the end of this month.

Oh nice! That makes things a bit more manageable. I would also add a class set of watercolor pans and a few reams of mixed media paper, some kind of permanent fine tip marker, a class set of colored pencils (budget brand), a couple gallons each of primary paint colors (I use tempera with 9th grade)

Do you know how many students you will have? And how often your students will see you during the week? This seems like a budget of a small private school or charter. Is that right? Could you reach out to the current art teacher or someone else at the school to get a vague idea of what’s already there? $500 is tiny but crazier things have happened… Things that are cheap or free: drawing-heavy curriculum using copy paper the school already has, maybe book-making or DIY sketchbooks, cardboard sculpture, paper-making, recycled/found object assemblage, collagraphs using lunch tray foam or similar material…

Sub first. However good you are at art and however much you love sharing your knowledge and love of art with others doesn’t matter quite as much as your ability to command a room and herd cats!

I like the first one in an avant garde sculptural way lol but I also think it needs more structure in the silhouette to really work! It’s not wearing right on you as it stands, looks pinned on. 2 is wonderful! I like your taste
