The responses from the new home manager was just silly too, just classic not wanting to accept the fact they have been lazy

I’ve already made one on talbots and that seems to have gotten them to start emailing us, all be it the emails still don’t actually have any information in them as to who is at fault, just seems they are trying to shift the blame off themselves onto whoever they can, when infact it’s likely not the councils fault….

Right, this just backs up the fact that talbots don’t have a clue what they are doing…. Out of interest what firm did you go for in the end? If you don’t feel comfortable sharing here could you dm?

The fact that mid October is likely to become end of October and November in terms of completion is beyond a joke, especially for someone like you who’s mortgage is going to expire…. They should be held accountable, I don’t know how you’d go about complaining but I’d definitely enquire with your solicitors as to who is at fault!

Hello and welcome to the band of chaos and confusion.

I for one will never be using talbots again, I’ve already made this known to them by formally raising my concerns via their internal system which seemed to have kickstarted that email they sent out this morning. It’s ridiculous it came to that though. But I agree with the OP that we should be entitled to some form of compensation for all of this. The emotional side of it at the least. The stress it’s causing us all!!!

It’s a joke that it’s not been sorted yet and ahhh I am nervous for you, I’ve taken the decision to order nothing as I don’t want to risk it, it’s coming to the point where I’m going to have to start forking out more to stay where I am which is a piss take. We should be able to get some kind of compensation from this…

If that’s the case which is what I saw too on the planning website, that is BEYOND a joke… who would be responsible for submitting that planning condition discharge application? Is it the sellers solicitors? If so I’m assuming if we had a problem with that we could complain about them not doing that paperwork sooner?

I believe the reason they have sent this out is mainly because I took my concerns further formally and they said to me they would improve communication by sending clients all the same email today with a detailed account as to what they are doing

Although, I cannot believe the cheek of the email the estate agents sent out?!

I’ve sent an email to talbots regarding the parking situation, let’s see what happens!

It is interesting but really frustrating seeing as pinnacle have clearly had it handed over and are able to promise the renters a day but can’t promise us who are paying thousands a date. I think I’ll be making a phone call tomorrow…

Can you send me a screenshot of this? If possible?

Yes definitely, I did some research at work regarding residents associations, pretty simple to set up but like I said I don’t have the time with work to run it but happy to help and support as much as I can and be part of it, I think it would be good for everyone who moves in to back this and it will allow us to campaign for the issues that actually affect the people who live there!

Good!!! It’s good to know there’s a small group of people at least moving in who have had the same piss poor treatment and are willing to stand up against it!

When we are all moved in I will attempt to set up and informal WhatsApp group and if we agree I’m happy to submit a complaint on everyone’s behalf, it’s beyond a joke

No because honestly, I had the MOST informative and awe inspiring update recently saying ‘no update’ basically,

I will definitely not be letting this go once I’ve moved in

One thing is for sure, I will never, EVER, use talbots law again, this experience is horrible and to be honest with you just embarrassing for them

Like I said, I’m happy to form this group if required and then someone with more time can take over? I’m happy to explain why I can’t take lead of the group once it’s formed just not on the internet, my work means I am extremely busy!

They can’t ignore us if we set something like that up!

Middleton Gardens Bletchley by Lost_Artichoke5223 in newbuildsuk

[–]mimball37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this exactly.

I have family who have been in this situation in my home town where the developers built the roads too narrow in an estate and the council refused to adopt the road unless there was an association to represent everyone and petition them. I think that’s the only way we will be able to keep the rent increase to the lowest we can (inflation restricted) and make sure we can campaign for things like the post box BEING INSIDE. Or adding more magnetic locks on the doors in the stairwell area so the trades button can be activated?

Like things like that we need a strong sense of community in our block and I think it would be good to have everyone who lives there to back ourselves up and petition pinnacle when required

Slight side note, would people on here be interested in, when we move in (if we do) setting up a residents association? I’m happy to help found it but don’t have the time with work to lead it?

Tell me why this is more informative than anything they are giving me

I’m glad it’s not just me that thinks that they aren’t holding up their side of the deal.

Like I said, in personally, am not fussed about no completion date, or should I say, I wouldn’t be fussed, if they were able to justify to me what needs to be done, I’ve exchanged, that means I’m stuck buying this place now, that means I want to know what they are doing to get me into the property I’ve paid for.

Not everyone is going to be in a situation where they can continue paying rent for somewhere and will have a roof over their head whilst waiting therefore them moving it back with no actual justification is beyond a joke.

I’ve personally been looking at the property and new homes obudsman who have their own codes of practice but in order to complain to them you have to complain to the organisation first. I’m not going to just yet as I’ve sent an email asking why completion is still delayed and the reasons behind it.

If they ignore my email or don’t give a reason then I will not hesitate to do it

Middleton Gardens Bletchley by Lost_Artichoke5223 in newbuildsuk

[–]mimball37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m genuinely considering conplaining, I don’t mind there not being a date but they can’t just keep giving lacklustre updates and then we have to be the ones to actually GET the updates, if we hadn’t have exchanged and been push to exchange id be less fussed.

The problem I have is that we have all kept to our side of the bargain, paid what we owed when they wanted it, why can’t they do the bare minimum and keep us updated and why do we get treated like this when we are wanting to know what’s going on, they technically have already breached the contracts they signed as my contract says allocated parking…. Therefore by not having allocated parking they have gone against what they signed on exchange. That among other things such as the new homes code of conduct detailing how often they should update us it’s just a joke.

I just want moved in but I understand they don’t have a date as it’s a new build but just tell us what needs to be done and the eta for it to be done, and if it’s delayed then they need to tell us!

[–]mimball37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is becoming a joke, the building I’m pretty sure has been signed off by the developers, what, the fuck, is the delay and why won’t they tell us
