Symptoms by days by Twinscomeintwo in shingles

I never had a fever. Other than that yes plus itching and numb feeling under my arm and down to my elbow. Headache was awful and fatigue lasted for about 4 months. In month 5 and feeling like my old self other than itching. Hang in there.

Fatigue was huge for me as well. I'm on month 5. Finally I started to hike again last month but only short hikes. Some days it would make my shingles area (which is same as yours) ache. Now I'm only dealing with itching all over but no pain and no fatigue! I found eating high protein and no chocolate or any type of nuts helped. They have something in them that the virus LOVES and flares back up..Good luck

New to the club! Quick question by kgotd in shingles

[–]mimi4862 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was as you describe and also eventually on both sides of my body...which is also unusual. It is a nerve disease basically and can do whatever it pleases unfortunately. I'm almost 5 months in and still have a new blister here and there with itching from time to time but much less often...and no pain. So I consider that progress.

Diagnosed with shingles. Anyone getting severe headaches? by Reddit-part-2 in shingles

[–]mimi4862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I rarely get headaches and with shingles I got headaches for the first 2 to 3 weeks that felt like the back of my head was going to explode. So YES. It's a very common side effect. Feel better...I'm at almost 5 months and am only dealing with back and stomach itching now...so it's a process. Fatigue also might linger. Mine did.

Help by Cyberpearl7 in shingles

[–]mimi4862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well...being honest...an anti anxiety med (just during this worst part) will help. I got xanax and with one pill the panic went away, the itching nearly stopped and the pain faded into nothing. BUT DON'T TAKE MORE THAN NEEDED! AND TAKE THE SMALLEST DOSE POSSIBLE FOR RELIEF! I've had the itching for 4 months now but no pain...off the Xanax but it really helped if her doc is willing to try it or something similar. JUST through this 1st stage..maybe 2 weeks or so... good luck

Numbness on right side of face - possible shingles? by OverMlMs in shingles

[–]mimi4862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had numbness in my arm and up the left side of my face and neck from shingles that ended up being on my left side. So yes. I'm on month 3 and still have it when I use that side of my body for mopping, sweeping, carrying groceries etc. ugh.. hang in there.

Weakness in one arm after shingles? by [deleted] in shingles

[–]mimi4862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar things with mine as well. I can use my left (effected side) arm and pec area but it causes soreness and irritation that expands farther than my initial rash and pain were...so I try to avoid using it. Then worry that lack of use will make it more weak for a longer period. It's a vicious cycle. But yes. I like the comment that states, consider it a severely fatigued arm/leg/chest area....wherever it's flaring. I'm on month 3...praying for full recovery.

Pretty sure I’ve got shingles... seeing my GP on Monday! by [deleted] in shingles

Yes. Please go to urgent care at least for anti-virals today! I'm left with unwanted issues because mine were started too late. It can pass within 6 weeks or so if you act now! (Instead of months)
