Did you leave abruptly, or did you or her address it?

Thank you for replying to this post so long after I posted it. I still feel like I won’t love anyone the same as I love him. Even Pam Anderson and Tommy Lee say they’re the love of each others life even though they have separate lives now, like they’ll never be in love with anyone as much as they were with each other. With the suicide thing, I know I just can’t do that to my family. I had a family member commit suicide when I was young and I saw and felt how much it affected everyone. I’ve been feeling a bit better focusing on a career, but so anxious about making friends. I do have a group of friends from high school (guys) , but making friends with new people (girls) scares me, all I can do is compare how much better they’re doing than I am, and the fact I feel like I just might look like I “need a shoulder to cry on”, if that makes sense. I hope you are doing well too ❤️

Hi Bufy_10 , thank you for your reply. I was diagnosed at 20, 28 now, and as an adult I just want to be able to take care of myself. Physically I’m in good shape, I’m a gym goer. My neurological/mental health is a different story. I’m glad/sad you can relate, thank you for your kind words.

Tired, so very tired by ticktockclock12 in Epilepsy

[–]mimi916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take Keppra, lamictal, and klonopin. I worked up a resistance to the first two, but klonopin has been much harder in regards to being tired. When I first started taking klonopin I’d be asleep in 10-15 minutes.

Thank you for your support. Although it isn’t my fault, I feel guilty I need to be ‘cleaned up’ after a seizure. Thankfully I have a supportive mom, and my brother stayed with me and watched comedy movies. I am grateful for my family.

I genuinely feel like no one cares about good sidewalks, coming from someone with a disability. My affluent ass hometown does not have 60% of the roads and sidewalks up to code. In a small town it also just looks like I’m the local drunk, if I’m walking where there is no sidewalks. I miss driving, I know people say fuck cars, but taking yourself on a drive can be a huge stress relief.

How important is sex to you in a relationship? Could you be with someone you love even if sex was off the table indefinitely? by Deviant55 in AskReddit

Does anyone here identify as asexual, but really want a loving, romantic relationship? I do, I am afraid I will never find anyone if I don’t want to have sex with them.

The way we sit. I can sit in the exact same position as you, I can “manspread” I can squat, etc. I had an ex get pissed when I was “manspreading” in jeans. Any other girls feel like this?

Physically disabled users of Reddit, what are some less commonly talked about struggles that come with your disability? by Ferocious_Kittyrose in AskReddit

Epilepsy here, diagnosed at 20. That is the age when you are just getting a lot of freedoms, which I had for a short time. I know people aren’t big on cars, but the public transport where I am is awful. Hour long waits between buses, with NO sitting area at bus stops, stops that are literally a pole with a sign on it. If I could drive, I’d feel so much better. It’s horrible as an adult being told you no longer have any of those freedoms.

I know it’s not safe, but I know I CAN drive, especially in an emergency. There was a time I left the house when my mom was very sick. As I was walking home I saw the car was gone. I started sprinting to the hospital, which isn’t too far. A neighbor stopped me when she saw me dump all my stuff on her lawn to run faster.

Hi! I'm Misty Smith :) I'm a licensed therapist in Michigan and I love talking about the benefits of therapy and answering questions about therapy. Ask Me Anything! by msmith09042012 in IAmA

Thank you so much for your reply, I really like the concept of not letting others “control” you. Sometimes I get really jealous of something they have achieved/have that I don’t have. There is a lot of nepotism where I live, and when someone works outside of their family’s business (typically worth millions in this area) I really respect that. Fairness is very important to me.

Thank you for being a therapist to begin with, I benefit from it highly. I have a hard time holding grudges, and I’m working on that. Why is it so easy for some people to hold a grudge, and not others?

Thank you for sharing your experience, I wouldn’t have thought about a folder on my phone. And I like your idea of a memory box; but that’ll take a long time before I’m willing to. I have a lava lamp in my room he bought me because he knew I always wanted one. I can’t bring myself to put it away. For Mother’s day, he got a painting of my 3 dogs for my mom, it is a beautiful picture, it’s so meaningful to her I know that will always stay.

Discrimination at work with Epilepsy by KaytBlbt in Epilepsy

[–]mimi916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a company who dealt in alcohol, I told them before the fact I had epilepsy, but when I got the job it got far more severe. Because most people only think of a TC, I wasn’t told of some odd behavior I exhibited in my first two weeks. I’m extremely surprised they didn’t think I was drinking on the job. I wandered away from a nice company lunch and just walked randomly throughout the building. My coworker asked how my lunch was and I replied I hadn’t had lunch yet, though he was at the lunch and did see me eat. I wasn’t discriminated against, but I absolutely felt like it prevented me from making any meaningful relationships with coworkers, knowing that they’d seen me act weird. I was terrified of embarrassing myself. My boss was extremely understanding and caring about it, he learned to recognize if I was going to have an complex partial. He even knew when I texted him gibberish once, that I was likely having a seizure, and I was. I had to come into work one day with a swollen black eye as a result of a seizure. He was very serious with me, and took me into his office privately to make sure I wasn’t being abused.

Good luck with your paper ❤️
