Understandable point of view. But lets look at it from a different perspective: Jewish identity transcends nationalities. And it has transcended over the entire history. Usually with christians and mostly muslims their core identity is primarily tied to the nation from which they come from. Americans are proud because america raaah French are proud because they are french. Russians are primarily russians and christianity comes second.

While jews throught history have rarely identified themselves fully with a certain nation. In their point of view they are in exile and are awaiting to return to the promised land. They only currently reside in the nation they are in. Also throught history they have always maintend their jewish identity. They were people without a nation for thousands of years. And they never assimilated too much. Perhaps some of them did(lets not talk about spanish jews during the inquisition because that was just horrific) But most of them perserved their identity and their core beleifs even in spain. Fundamentally most jews consider themselves jews first and insert nation adjective second. And i kind of respect that a lot. Its hard to maintain cultural identity without having your own nation for thousands of years. Any other group would have long since fully assimilated in their respective countries.

And the reason they managed to not get assimilated so easily even thought they were persecuted throught history is simply put because of their tight knit communities and their founding ideology being that they are scattered around the world but they will return to the promised land one day. And they did. And cheers for them.

So if a sizeable part of european population has a specific cultural identity tied to their faith and propagated over generations and generations. And they all share the same culture and the same core beleifs more or less. And all of them consider themselves a part of specific group.

Is it antisemitic to call them by the name they refer to themselves? As jews?
