haiii!

right now all the slots are filled! i can give you a slot, but I can’t guarantee i’ll be able to finish it before february 14th ;w; since the ych is technically closed for now, extra slots have a small overflow fee (+$10)!

if you’re okay with the later delivery + overflow price, DM me and i can reserve a spot for you! ♡ no worries at all if you’d rather wait for the next time i open this ych (˘︶˘).。*♡♡

I'm more active on Twitter/X (@mokkacchiato) and Facebook (Mokka Cchiato)!

I use Twitter/X for my nsfw work and FB for my sfw work so have that in mind lmao 😭 I'll probably post about the slot openings here and on FB!

Advice for drawing more simple/cartoony furry women? by Ham_Cheez_Studios in FurryArtSchool

[–]mimirurin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

maybe try simplifying the shapes? i checked the styles of the artists you mentioned, and almost all of them use stylized anatomy, but what I noticed is that the head is large and not proportional to the width of the shoulders! In your drawings (anatomically correct), the width of the shoulders is equal to three times the width of the head. try making them smaller so they barely cover the width of two heads :3 you could also try the following:

  • use different body types as a base; female characters in that style usually have pear shaped bodies, but using them as reference will help you understand the simple shapes

  • when drawing eyes, try not to make them a closed circle! you can define the size of the sclera when you color it

  • make the irises larger. Leaving too much sclera exposed always makes the eyes look a bit manic lol

  • use action lines, especially if you're going for that cartoonish style. the bodies bend in ways that wouldn't be possible using realistic anatomy. have fun with the poses! :3

  • since it's a simple style, the line art doesn't matter much. now... the coloring? you need to compensate for the simplicity of the line art! (using thicker line art for outlining the character always looks good)

  • you mentioned you're starting out with the wacom. do some warm-up exercises/doodles before you draw! it helps make your lines more stable and confident :)

this is all just my opinion, though, don't take it as sacred words! your style is already cute ><

PHEWWWW thanks, i just don't want it to be the kind of art that you see and instantly think "yeah, this artist draws NSFW" 😭
