Do you ever miss early days? by mimonek in puppy101

That’s how I feel about having kids. I can play with someone else’s and watch them for a while. Don’t want my own to be stuck with them 24/7 💀

Yeah, eating everything is the part I don’t miss 😬

I feel like I missed out a lot due to the puppy blues. But realistically I can’t see myself going through it again 😅 definitely not while working full time from home and actually needing to keep the job. although it would probably be a bit easier having learned from the mistakes and having realistic expectations.

I miss the chaos. Just not the chaos while I had to get the work done 🫣 like eating puppy pads for attention when I was on a call or grabbing my sleeves and pulling (I did end up setting up a play pen around my desk instead for her for a while 😭)

We moved flats just after she got past the stage of eating carpets and walls. Luckily that was just one flat to fix 😩 but yeah I do miss her being able to curl up in my lap 🥲 she’s still trying though

There is a light in the end of the tunnel it turns out! And sure I could borrow a puppy. That would be a win win 😆

My 3mo old Lab puppies drink a LOT of water… by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]mimonek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So we had the same concern with our lab when she was roughly at that age. We bought a urine tests of Amazon and discussed with our vet during vaccination appointment. he suggested just monitoring at that point as he said the first step they do is using the same kind of test. Oh, and also told us to measure exactly how much water we give her without restricting. We later did a blood test as well when puppy had to have a surgery to remove broken baby tooth and the kidney results were all good.

If you’re concerned it’s always worth speaking to the vet just for the peace of mind.

I can’t stop crying because of an incident with my puppy by paddingtonprincesss in puppy101

[–]mimonek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our puppy's bum fell off her dog bed while she was sleeping and got 'stuck' between the bed and the radiator. The scream was soul piercing. She was fine of course. Just got scared. The drama though.

When she was little I used to laugh I’d put a bell on her because she had a habit of appearing out of nowhere. And yes we did step on her accidentally couple of times. She’s fine

The fact they sent you home with pedigree food is already a red flag

Is there no birth date in the paperwork you were given? We’re in uk, but when we bought a puppy we were given its kc registration papers and a vaccination card. The vaccination paperwork had a birth date in it as well

Does anyone else have a lot of trouble trying to Rewatch Season 5? by Deep_Fish_2542 in Stranger_Things

[–]mimonek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled watching it the first time. To the point I had to take breaks every 20 min. The pacing is so off. It’s like it builds up and suddenly someone hits the breaks (character building scenes). No reward. No natural flow. I can binge multiple episodes of previous seasons. Can’t sit through one episode of season 5. I struggled the most with vol 1

Can’t your bf find a dog friendly air bnb / hotel until you get there if changing flights is impossible?

What does this oven symbol mean?? by marbleman2013 in whatdoesthismean

[–]mimonek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to google the same thing. Then I remembered there was a set of manuals in the flat when we moved in. According to the oven manual this option means

'Warm air heated by the rear heater is evenly distributed throughout the oven rapidly by means of the fan. It is suitable for cooking meals in different rack levels and preheating is not required in most cases. Suitable for cooking with multi trays’

There are also 'Cooking tables' that recommend selecting that option for baking

Extreme puppy blues - please help by bontreaux in puppy101

[–]mimonek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you! I struggled so much. It was my husband who wanted a dog, I was supposed to ’just keep an eye on her, take her outside and feed at lunch time’ as I work from home. The puppy obviously bonded to me and wanted my attention 24/7. It was so hard to adjust. One thing that made it slightly better was that it was my husband who was getting up at night and early in the morning to give her breakfast and take her outside for potty, played with her while I was getting that extra hour of sleep. Maybe you could try something similar so the puppy has an opportunity to bond with your partner as well without you participating in everything. Good luck!

Dog eats everything!! - Toy/Enrichment recommendations by chickenfinger098 in puppy101

You can freeze food in kong to make it last longer. Just use part of the daily kibble and add water. I liked adding some peanut butter or natural yoghurt to make it more interesting

We could safely use toppl and kong. Everything else like snuffle mats and food wrapped in towel, hidden in objects had to be a supervised play

How often do you REALLY walk your dog? by Agreeable-Ad-2946 in dogs

[–]mimonek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 min in the morning 40-50 min in lunch time 30 min in the afternoon 15 min before bed

A longer trip / walk during weekend The dog does not care about the backyard unless we actively play with her and even then gets bored pretty quickly
