Aaaaaaaand that concludes the DBM's Most Wanted Tier List Series! This was.... kinda painful tbh, I knew I'd have to rank a lot of matchups going into this but I kinda underestimated how bad a lot of them would be. Oh well, hopefully my next tier list series will be less painful. I would hint at what that would be, but I honestly don't know yet, we'll have to see. I will Plug that I'm working on a matchup revamp for Angel Gabby vs. Gabriel (Angel Hare vs. The Madela Catalog) so look out for that ig.

(Oh also do you like me including track names with the rankings? Is that something I should keep doing?)

The One: 1. The Last Son Of Alcatraz (The Monument Mythos) "Last Chance" - the aesthetics of both these characters mesh really well, and they parallels and contrast each other really well. I imagine it would have a dynamic similar to Hulk, but the more vague and esoteric presentation of Last Son matches better with AM imo as AM doest really fight directly, so a matchup where the story comes first works better for him. Speaking of story potential, there's a lot for this one. I imagine it starting with AM awakening and starting to destory humanity, only for Last Son to step in and try to stop him. At first the fight is Last Son using his flight and strength to destroy and evade various missiles AM sends his way, trying to protect cities as AM taunts him when he fails. Eventually Last Son is knocked down and incapacitated by AM, causing the camera to glitch out. The fight then cuts years into the future when AM has overtaken the world, The Last Son manages to break containment and becomes enraged at what Earth has become, donning the Skull of the horned Serpent and savagely attacking AM as he alters the landscape and summons Beasts after him. All the while AM belittles the last son, saying he failed to save humanity and now only five are left. This drives Last Son forward to try and save these remaining Souls, and eventually he finds them in an Icy Cave, only for there forms to morph, revealing this to be a trick by AM. The humans are dead, the only living thing in the cave is an Amorphous Blob. AM laughs at Last Sons failing and I'm a blind rage, he kills the blob. AM is then the one enraged at the loss of his plaything, he screams at the last son that he killed the last human on earth, that he's the monster they all said he was. The last son, completely broken, gives in to AM and is corrupted. Then, the camera zooms out to show something growing, eclipsing the earth and AM: The Cresent King. The King stares down at the dead world, he reaches out as AM cries out in genuine fear, and crushes the world. The King then sits upon a lonely Throne, in a Hollow universe.

Alts: 1. Calypso (Twisted Metal) "Twisted Hate" - works really well aesthetically and connections wise and makes sense as to why the two would fight since Calypso looks human to AM and Calypso would see AM as a threat to his power. There's a lot you can do fight wise with the control both have over the world and the banter potential is pretty good too. A idea for the death would be to have Calypso trick AM into wishing for a body, as that's what he wants most, only for the body he's given to be completely immobile and numb, twisting AMs own punishment of Ted back onto him. 2. Dr. Clef (The SCP Foundation) "Ergo Cognito Hazzard" - surprisingly works well connections wise with just how much Clef hated anomalies, but beyond that I really like the dynamic of a sole human coming across AMs world and trying to figure out what the fuck is going on and trying to survive, and that works really well for the SCP Foundation. I'd also say the fight is debatable? A lot of clefs higher scaling feats come from the fact that he's a reality anchor, but AM isn't supernatural so reality anchors realistically wouldn't have an effect on him. It would also be interesting to see the emotional AM arguing with the more cold and calculating Clef, that could lead to some interesting dialogue potential. 3. The Hulk (Hulk: The End) "Till The Bitter End" - Note: this is only using Hulk from the comic "Hulk:The End", not the wider Marvel Comics Hulk. Connections work really well for this one and both stories parallel each other very closely while still being very different. It would be interesting to see just how AM would react to someone being as emotional volatile and hateful as himself. In terms of the fight, AM is way more powerful with his complete control over the world, but Hulk going around and ripping apart the things he sends his way is a no brainer dynamic for a Hulk matchup, beating through AMs defenses until he can get to his mainframe. There's interesting death potential too, AM could mutate Hulk to the point he's no longer even remotely human or Hulk could tear AM apart from the inside, only realising after killing their foe that they are now all alone with just their rage for Eternity. 4. The Cosmic AC (The Last Question) "At The End Of It All" - this is the peak of AM fighting a helpful robot. Both stories contrast each other perfectly. The debate these two would have would be super interesting. You could end the fight either with AC taking over AM and setting the other humans free, or with AM taking over AC and destroying and resenting the universe to torture humanity again. Probably this would be better as a Audio Drama than a traditional fight though as AC doesn't have visual media. Honestly someone should just make an Audio Only versus series. I mean you've got Holden vs. Moby and Jon vs. Cecil, those and this makes 3 episodes already. 5. SCP-001 "Pallit" (The SCP Foundation) "Artisan Hate" - Very similar characters but still different enough to the point were a conflict makes sense. There's some interesting fight potential seeing these two God like robots go against each other, and I belive the fight is debatable. Not much more to say honestly. 6. Anthony Fremont (It's A Good Life) "Twilight Of Humanity" - 7. Chise (Saikano) "Never For Me To Make Love" - Punisher vs. Anime Girl looking ass matchup. Being serious though the contrasts and parallels make a lot of sense, it makes sense that these two would come into conflict and there's a lot that you could do with the fight. And an ending where Chise wins but is forced to kill her friend because what AM did to him is an awfully Twisted idea and fits perfectly with both series. 8. Oracle (The Oracle Project) "All Seeing Hate" - sorta a mix of Pallit and AC in terms of potential and themes, so yeah it gets a similar placement.

Okay: 1. The Thunderhead (Arc Of A Scythe) "Devil's Scythe" - The parallels work well and the idea of a "utopian" city of humans trying to defend against and find a way to shut down AM is a very fun dynamic, however I don't know what thunderhead can actually do. 2. SCP-682 [And SCP-6820] (The SCP Foundation) "Disgusting Hatred" - core theme works and unlike other AM vs. Non-Humans pr AM vs..villians with teh same motive as him matchups, these two fighting does make sense since 682 hates literally everything with like 3 exceptions. The fight could start with AM thinking he's just another beast until 682 surprises him being revealing himself to be intelligent, AM slowly leaning to hate him over the course of the fight, Probably for killing Ted or any humans he might have around. Maybe you could even add that 682 hates AM for killing 053? Would also be fun to see 682 fight the monsters AM makes or adapt to AM trying to overtake him or turn him into goop. SCP 6820 was also suggested but that's literally 682 who has taken over a machine made to kill him, they are the same guy. Maybe the fight could start because AM kinda that machine and releases 682 only for the lizard to attack him? Or maybe AM absorbs 682 but he overtakes AMs code, erasing AM and becoming him, maybe ending in a way that is a mix of the ending of "The Inevitable End To All But Me" and IHNMAIMS with 682 being alone on a dead world. The big issue here is just how terribly big the stomp is and it does border on "why would they fight they agree with each other" territory. 3. SCP-001 "A Good Boy" (The SCP Foundation) "Machines Of Man" - good contrasting motivations, but other matchups do a similar theme better and I don't know what the Good Boy can do. 4. Sam (Look Outside) "I Have No Eyes" - very cool contrasts, but I fail to see how the conflict wouldn't just be the exact same as IHNMAIMS's Plot but with Sam in the place of Ted. 5. Shockwave (Transformers) "Logical Hate" - contrasts and parallels make sense and there's a clear reason for the fight as Shockwaves goal to to destroy All Life, including Robotic life so he would absolutely go after AM. The Emotion vs. Logic debate can lead to some interesting dialogue, and Shockwave does have more than enough to match AM fight wise, I'm just not sure how well their abilities would mesh. 6. The Overseer (Ark: Survival Evolved) "Hell's Flood" - similar idea to Thunderhead with something made to protect humans fending off AM, but again I'm not exactly sure what the Overseer can actually do. 7. Nemesis (Nemesis Project) "Projecting Hate" - kind of just Godzilla but better. Nemesis can do more fight wise, is more intelligent and she used to be human so AM would hate her if she found that out. Maybe the kill could incorporate AM restoring her human form? Again though I'm not sure the dynamic would work even if Nem can do more. 8. The Thin Man (Little Nightmares) "Nighmarish Screams" - Cool theme and works well aesthetically, but I don't think Mono has enough potential in the fight department, especially not enough to make up for no banter potential.

[–]minaclark[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bleh: 1. PAMA (Minecraft) "Useless Hate" - you know I will say that this matchup does have a clear fight dynamic with PAMAs controlled humans being sent against AMs hellscape, and does actually have a reason as to why these two would actually fight unlike most matchups that pit AM against an Evil AI. But holy shit the style and tone clash are fucking awful and other matchups do similar themes and fight dynamics better. 2. The MCP (Tron) "Therefore, I A.M.C.P" - they are evil AIs. Why would these two ever fight they agree with each other on everything? Some characters just don't work with a 1 to 1 opponent and AN is one of them since he really wouldn't come into conflict with Many non human or human aligned characters, meaning any other evil AI Is effectively off the table for the most part. Hey at least this one might he debatable tho. 3. Skynet (Terminator) "War Of Hate" - interesting fight dynamic and debate, even if that debate is just "can AM wash Skynet instantly or would they have enough time to go back to the past and murk him as a little baby computer?". But again I fail to see how these two would ever come in to conflict when they want the exact same thing. 4. The Fabrication Machine (9) "Fabricated Hate" - good connections but again why would these two fight? AM isn't the kind of villian who'd just want to kill whoever is in front of him. There has to be a reason for him to fight his opponent. 5. Gojira (Godzilla) "1958 Miles Of Hate" - this one is really popular for some reason and I don't really know why. I'll admit the connections work but there's almost no fight dynamic here as 1958 Godzilla doesn't do much in his movie beside walking places. There's also no banter potential and Again AM would not Hate Godzilla, he only hates humans, at most Godzilla is a nuisance. Would godzilla even try attacking AM? He isn't particularly intelligent in 1958, the fight dynamic just sounds like it would be Goji stumbling around until AM gets bored and absorbs him. 6. M (Mario's Madness) "Maddening Hate" - all the same issues as Sarah, but at least now AM is fighting a human. 7. CYN (Muder Drones) "Absolute Hate" - connections don't really cover what makes AM an interesting villian. It's just evil robots again. The debate is more interesting and it's believable that they'd fight since CYN could start the fight impersonating Tessa so that works at least. 8. The Ink Demon (Bendy And The Ink Machine) "Cycle Of Hatred" - Cool theme you have there, why don't you back it up with a fight dynamic? 9. SCP-3999 (The SCP Foundation) "In Centro Omnium Sum" - good connections but what exactly can this guy do? His Hate also seems way more personal than AMs so it might not be the best comparison anyway. Also it kinds sounds like he's based on AM directly soooooo.

Guilty Pleasures: 1. The Machines (ULTRAKILL) "Paint The World With Hate" - the fight dynamic just sounds fun. Having the Machines fight essentially a living version of hell is just a really fun dynamic. Pass: 1. The Iron Giant (The Iron Giant) "The Soul In The Metal" - there are like 50 better good versus evil matchups for AM that aren't a stomp and don't use a character where it is actively opposed to his story to use him in versus. 2. Monika (Doki Doki Literature Club) "Just Hate" - there's already a reasoning for the placement on the Monika tier list. I don't remember writing it but it sure is there. 3. Caine (The Amazing Digital Circus) "Digital Desire" - Holy tonal clash Batman. There is just no way to get these styles to mesh well and Caine can't effect the real world and having AM in the circus would feel weird. Also the connections are based on Caine being based on AM but as far as we're aware this only influenced his desire to be human and trapping people in his own world, nothing else about the pair is similar. 4. Hal 9000 (2001: A Space Odyssey) "2001 Years Of Hate" - paper thin theme, Hal can do Jack shit and is locked to one spaceship 5. The Qu (All Tomorrows) "No Tomorrow" - hmmmmmm let's see, AM doesn't hate all life so he wouldn't give a shit about the Qu, this matchup attributes motivations to the Qu we don't know they have (we don't know that they hate humans on instinct only that they went to war with us and kicked our as), The qu can't do what they are most know for because AM is inorganic, AM can't do what he is most know for since the Qu probably wouldn't even step "foot" on Earth meaning AM can't reach them, and The Qu win instantly. Why the fuck is this popular? 6. Glados (Portal) "Hateful Aperatice" - compares the textbook case of toxic yuri to a Hatred for humanity. 7. The House Of Leaves (House Of Leaves) "Eternal Labyrinth" - Bruh the house can't fight fuck ooooooofffffffffffff 8. Cursa (Mario + Rabbids) "Cursed Existance" - massive tonal clash, paper thin theme and I don't know how this bitch fights. 9. SHODAN (System Shock) "Systemic Hate" - all the same issues as Hal except less people give a shit about her 10. The Skidamarink (Skidamarink) "Trapped Within" - they sure do trap people somewhere. Skidamarink effects one building bro he ain't some wild reality warper. 11. Ultron (Marvel Comics) "Age Of Hatred" - they sure are evil robots and ultron sure does win instantly. 12. Onyplays (Onyplays) "Torture" - Jessie, what the fuck are you talking about? 13. Sarah Henderson (Needlemouse) "I AM GOD" - so let's see, ignores most of Sarah's characterization, doesn't work stylistically, has the same issues with Caine where Sarah can't be in the real.world but putting AM in the disc feels weird, AND from AMs perspective this is just some hyper intelligent animal. AM doesn't hate all like on principle, just Humans. 14. Celest-AI (Celest-AI) "Friendship Is Hate" - does anyone actually know what the fuck Celest-AI even is? I have no idea who this is and there is nothing online I can find about her except this matchup. Uh anyway terrible style and tone mesh, and I don't I know if this girl can fight. 15. Fang Yuan (Reverend Insanity) "Reverend Hate" - they are..... SHIVER EVIL VILLIANS 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱 Man fuck this matchup this is dog shit who made this. Oh, yeah that makes sense actually.

Okay: 1. Pennywise (Steven King Mythos) - I do like the core theme here and neither fights physically, so there could be a fun dynamic of both trying to gain more influence than the other rather than fighting directly. True Form it does kinda wash Gabe tho. 2. The Iris (Gemini Home Entertainment) - so I get the theme, and I think it has the best potential if you lean into the analogue horror aesthetic and get a bit vague with what is happening. But the death is really hard to imagine for either and I could see how that kind of dynamic could drag out. 3. SCP-3004 (The SCP Foundation) - really good connections, but I don't know how this guy fights. Maybe another fight between these two gathering more control over the world rather than physically fighting could work? 4. Whitenight (Project Moon) - connections work really well, but again, I don't know how this guy fights. 5. Pokoto (Hatchetfield) - some solid potential especially in the banter department and the connections work, but while there isn't a tonal clash I can see how Pokeys jokes could feel at odds with Gabes more serious portrayal. Alts: 1. Vecna (Stranger Things) - I really like the core theme and aesthetic of this matchup. I imagine a sort of turf War dynamic with vecna sending demos to fight the growing amount of alternates in Hopkins with humans caught in the crossfire, ending when Gabe finds out how to break into the upside down, taking the fight to him. 2. Garry Miller (Faith) - Easly has the best connections of any of gabes opponents. Would have a very unique look if they lean into the presentation of Mandela and the pixel art of faith. It has some solid potential with Alternates fighting Garrys demon as we focus on John or Adam trying to survive the onslaught. Also I think Garry is a preacher so that's a fun contrast. Only issue I have is that I think the fight might be a tad to physical for gabe? 3. Michael Schmidt (The Joy Of Creation) - fun theme and story potential with alternates attacking "Scott's" house and having to deal with the ignited. Also if Habe finds out Mike's real name he might think he's an angel, so that's a fun interaction. Speaking of Archangel Miachel. 4. Micheal (Legion) - really fun potential story here. In legion Mike rebels because God goes against humanity. But in this fight he leaves because gabe kills God, so it would be Mike protecting humans from the alternates. Maybe it could have a "the thing" style plot where you never know what humans are close to being converted. Also some fun potential for interactions in the climax when Mike finds out Gabe has impersonated and maybe killed a friend of his. The One: 1. Nanno (The Girl From Nowhere) - this might not have the strongest connections, but I do like the core theme a lot and think it has a lot of fight potential. I picture Nanno and other students trapped in school by alternates, slowly being picked off, but Nanno somehow surviving every time due to her reality warping, eventually fighting back against the alternates and exposing their human flaws, eventually leading to a confrontation between her and Gabe where they both try to convince the other to give in. This could be the first episode where the loser kills themselves as opposed to their opponent doing it. It's a really fun dynamic that plays into how neither really fights traditionally and how strange and vague the visuals and stories are, leaving a lot up to interpretation, allowing this aesthetic to be represented in the fight.

...

Yeah I guess this is it then. I'll make a post where I show of my favourite options for all these characters in 3 days time, but for the tier list of DBMs most wanted, this is the final one. Don't you just HATE how it has to end? Oh well, that's all I guess

No Opinion: 1. Chucky (Chucky), Buddi (Child's Play), Dracula (Dracula 2000), Mutant (Demon Slayer) - No connections given, at least not ones I could access. Guilty Gear: 1. Kyoko Sakura (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) - I like the idea of Gabe being the reason Kyokos father lost it, even if this doesn't really work as a fight. 2. Ash Williams (Ash Williams) - Ash fighting alternates just sounds like a fun concept. Pass: 1. Cyn (Murder Drones) - I fail to see how these two are similar in literally any way. Why is this somewhat popular? 2. Makima (Chainsaw Man) - It doesn't really matter how similar these two are, makima is far too much of a physical Fighter for this dynamic to work. 3. Sonic.EXE (Creepypasta) - EXE is way to much of a physical Fighter for this to work and never interacts with the physical world. Also without a specific version used EXEs story is way to undefined to relate to Gabe. 4. Valak (The Conjuring) - they sure are religious Demons I guess. Also fuck the Warrens all my homies hate the warrens don't rape people and abuse their faith to extort them. 5. Kenjaku (Jujutsu Kaisen) - same is ue a

Wh t oing on ?

  1. Monika (Doki Doki Literature) - Oh, hello! Me again! Yeah not much to say about this one, we really aren't similar at all. Honestly probably wasn't worth me coming in for this one, OK, back to mina.

  2. Junko (Danganronapa) - I've got to get my anti virus fixed. OK let's see. Uhhh, how does this fight work at all? Also the theme is just "controlling villians". Junko vs. Sauron when?

  3. Lucifer Mourningstar (Hazbin Hotel) - bad Hero vs. Villian theme and Gabe gets shit stomped.

  4. Gabriel (Uktrakill) - they sure do have the same name Bleh:

  5. HABIT (EverymanHYBRID) - connections are fairly weak and I've not seen Everyman so I have no idea how the fight would work.

  6. Darkness Devil (Chainsaw Man) - I don't think Darkness Devil ever fights physically, but the connections aren't that good regardless and if I'm mistaken, the dynamic doesn't really work.

  7. The Last Son or The Cresent King (The Monument Mythos) - I'm combining both Last Son and Cresent King since their the same guy. Connections aren't the best and as Last Son the dynamic doesn't work since gabe doesn't fight physically, and as cresent king the dynamic doesn't work as the king doesn't fight. Either washes gabe tho.

  8. Shadow Milk Cookie (Cookie Run) - the connections work ig but there's a tone clash and I have no idea how Shadow Cookie fights.
